I like it. Fresh perspectives and another set of eyes for our coaching staff. Can't wait for football again!

These are the kind of people we need on staff. People that want to be here. That it means something to them and not just another step in their career.

His hires thus far have all pretty much been upgrades. And this cycle specifically seems like the staff is locked in. Only time will tell but he hasn't gone backwards with his replacement hires

I hope. Four years in and we should be humming, but in fairness it’s not really four years yet. I honestly see us coming together as a more complete force next season(2022). I want to believe the Trask/FF was invaluable.

Dabo was HC at Clemson from 2008 to 2016 before winning a National Title. However, was at Clemson for 5 years before that as an Assistant Coach as well prior to promotion to HC. That is 13 years at Clemson before a title in what is the easiest conference in the country. Most ACC teams lost their Bowl game last year.

Where does “four years in” come from. Mullen’s team has played 3 seasons, one of which was totally screwed up by the virus. So “in fairness” it’s really not even 3 yet.

I'm surprised no one else has commented on his time as the Georgia Southern head coach. Maybe he's here to exorcise the bad juju from 2013?

That was part of my "strong Georgia ties". He was born there, went to school there and coached in and around Georgia. Probably safe to say he knows his way around the High schools in Georgia.

FWIW CDM was in his 2014 6th season at Miss St. when he beat Bama and rose to #1 in the nation..... at freaking Miss St. So you have to trust his process. Who else have you ever heard taking MISSISSIPPI ST. to #1 and beating 3 straight top 10 teams in the process?

I remember being pretty impressed (and pissed) when Mullen's Miss St beat us in 2010!

Not to be a Debbie downer, but it was his 6th season, he lost to Bama, and those 3 top10 teams were all 8-5.

In Dan Mullen's sixth year at Mississippi State they beat three top 10 teams and were ranked number one for a month.
    No small achievement.

2014 was a great year for Mississippi State.
In Mullen's sixth season, the Bulldogs were ranked #1 for a month before losing to Alabama.
In his nine years as head coach of Mississippi State, Dan Mullen's Bulldogs never beat Alabama.

Does any of that change the fact that he became the 1st school to go from unranked to number one in the nation in 5 weeks?

I was quoting an ESPN article, says the old quickest was Ohio St. In 1954 when they did it in 6 weeks.
"Mississippi State is the new No. 1 in The Associated Press college football poll, replacing Florida State and making the fastest rise to the top spot in the history of the poll.

The Bulldogs received 45 first-place votes from the media panel Sunday. Mississippi State beat Auburn 38-23 on Saturday, its third straight victory against a top-10 team. The Bulldogs are the first team in the poll's 78-year history to go from unranked to No. 1 in five weeks. The previous mark was six weeks by Ohio State in 1954."

I see how they calculated that five weeks.
From the last week Mississippi State was unranked until the first week they were #1.
I was looking at it from the first game of the season.
Either way .. it was a hell of a run.
