Already outdated Auburn's New Football Facility Will Feature a Spaceship-Like Lounge, Flight Simulator and Recording Studio
Yeah, but you have to walk through one recording studio to get to the other one. That's crap. Maybe once all their coloring books are finished and their art careers aren't going anywhere, they can focus on music. Because they won't be getting drafted in the first 7 rounds.
One thing I really hope they do in the design of this thing is leave dimensions and design open to being augmented down road if when the need arises. I’m talking spatially
Auburn's will have a wing dedicated to Cam Newton where every player get a free laptop, slightly used.
UAA is spending $85m on ours vs. $60m at SC, Auburn, FSU, $55m Clemson, $65m Tennessee, Oregon at $68m etc. It’s hard to find teams spending more on standalone Football facilities (Bama, Texas, Northwestern). IMO this is just the UAA focusing on utility: joining the weight room with the practice field, having good recovery and nutrition setups, maximizing the outdoor space for recreation and Throwing a bone to other athletes by having some space for them to use. It’s not bad, in fact it’s probably the best use of the money, it’s just not sexy. Meanwhile Auburn might have a mediocre approach to functional uses but they threw in a couple tiny rooms for “wow factor.” If your guys are in a flight simulator or recording studio all day, you probably aren’t investing in the right things. But when you have recruits walking in you can kind of have fun with it. Now as for the barber shop, IMO it’s dumb if we don’t have one at this point. Seems like it’s a simple add and it’s both functional and fun. UGA actually used it to give a recruit a fun experience shaving a coach’s head, then closed the loop before he committed by making a video referencing it. I wonder if we have a body motion capture planned like some teams, to work through mechanics and hitches that players need to work out of their game? There has to be something cool and different we can do? Maybe Gator wrestling?
