It appears several hires are imminent.

    Wesley McGriff, 52

McGriff doesn’t have any ties to Mullen or Grantham, but has coached in the SEC for nearly a decade. He’s had two stints with Auburn (2019-present, 2016) and Ole Miss (2017-18, 2012) as well as stops at Vanderbilt (2011) and Kentucky (2001-02). McGriff, a Georgia native, also spent three seasons (2013-15) with the New Orleans Saints and four years as the Miami Hurricanes defensive backs coach (2007-10). His top recruits include UM’s Brandon Harris and Robert Nkemdiche at Ole Miss.

    Grantham will return :(

Wasn’t Robert Nkemdiche the recipient of improper benefits?

Well, at least one question has been answered: Mullen isn't leaving.

Rumor is Chris Ash from Texas may be coaching safeties at UF. I actually watched one Texas game this year and one thing I remember stood out - their entire secondary tackled hard and tackled well. So...I would like that here.

If either of them teach tackling, it's probably a plus.

One reporter tweeted that his family got $250k+ in benefits, but nothing was ever proven.

Hard to teach or practice tackling when teams are actively trying to minimize contact.

My daughter went to Ole Miss. They definitely pay. But $250k to Nkemdiche or however you spell his name? Nah. There is only one guy in the state of Mississippi with that kind of money and he went to jail for bribing judges.

I met various former Ole Miss athletes through my daughter's friends. We tailgated in the Grove. They were paying.

McGriff has a mixed record but does have 3 or 4, 5 stars and a dozen or so 4 stars credited to him. As far as I know Ash is not official as of yet, but could be soon. He would appear to be the slightly stronger hire, if he does indeed come aboard.
