It's easy to see Kiffen pull a guy that plays poorly as well.

Good names but I think all but Kiffin are not likely to leave.

Lanning - NO reason to leave Oregon (money, Big10) Unless he wants to be in the SEC
Cignetti - Will be 65 years old and just got to P4. Has won everywhere he has been, but why leave to hopefully re-establish another P4 school?
Clark Lea - I like this guy but his record stinks. Appears to have Vandy on a hot streak, but he is from Nashville and a Vandy alumn. For his career, yes it would make sense to jump to a bigger school. But his body of work is not impressive overall
Joe Brady - Not sure why people keep naming him. Who would leave their job coaching arguably the best QB in the NFL, on a Super Bowl contending team. To attempt to not get fired by Florida? Joe brady likely gets a NFL head coaching gig in the next 2-3 years.

Kiffin is the only name I think is actually available. He may be peaking at Ole Miss, and I think he has the ego that would make him jump to Florida to try and be the next Spurrier (his idol coach).

We only had Meyer for 6 years. Titles aside, I'd absolutely take another brief run of success over our current extended stretch of frustration.

Why do you think the Indiana is his last ride? Who wants to stop there?

So among The top-tier coaches at good to great teams, what would be an upgrade to come here?

I disagree. At this point it would take a miracle for Florida to win a title before Indiana in the next 2-3 years. My argument is that the barrier to the championship game is lower than it was before the 12 team playoff. Making the playoff is the goal. IMO all teams have a near equal chance once you are in the playoff. Florida appears to be nowhere close. Maybe with the right staff and quick turnaround it is possible... but Indiana is literally knocking on the door right now. Why leave to hopefully find the same success at Florida.

Why not a powerful rush offense with an efficient pass offense to go with a great defense?

JMOHO, but until those doing the hiring and firing are held accountable, nothing will change.

There will be no new HC any time soon, so this thread is a circus of mental gymnastics imo, but more likely mental masturbation's with no good outcome in sight.

I'm not seeing anything that looks even remotely like a move to fire BN, so just settle down and take your lumps like any well conditioned fan does... :monkey:

The only thing IMO to get him to leave is his desire to prove himself in the SEC. But we dont know if that even matters to him. He has won everywhere he has been, and now has a playoff team with Indiana. I dont think he would be quick to leave Indiana to try and re-establish Florida. I think he is at Indiana for the foreseeable future.

Me too. I was talking to a friend about another coach who really stunk it up besides BN. Someone who was over his skis.

85% of remaining contract? I guess not paying him for the second half of the season offsets that. I think our players would be relieved if he was gone immediately. They may like him and feel bad for him but they want to win too and may not mind someone else on the staff trying their hand at calling plays. They know hes done.

Cignetti might jump. Hes doing well but like Kiffen is at a school that may not provide the best chance to beat the big boys. He got boat raced when he finally played a ranked team and thats not his fault. He may want more equal footing for a chance to really compete. he could be just as happy making $8 million a year with no pressure either. No tellingwhat's inside his head.

I disagree that all playoff teams have a near equal chance. You need talent.

There's maybe 10 teams that have the talent to actually compete and as a season goes on half of those get weeded out also. Indiana is not one of those. Not yet anyway.

Wow. Wikipedia says “As of 2024 he represents 7 of the 10 highest paid college football coaches, 14 of the 16 SEC head coaches and 7 NFL head coaches.“ That’s some clout!

    Sure, the
I agree with the talent side of things. I still think being in the Playoffs gives you a real shot against any of the teams. I think the CFP will be closer this year.
