His buyout was 27 mil last year? We put that much into nil?

IMO, this is exactly the parallel to what St. Louis and Baltimore did with their NFL teams. They decided it wasn't worth the price, got dinged, got "religion" and then decided to make an offer they couldn't refuse. What do you want? Do you want to make a "strong-assed offer" to someone who would not give you consideration unless you do or do you want your sanity? To me, Fisch has potential, just not a buzz for the kind of money that says "we want you". Methinks it will be the same for Cig and maybe even Kiffin.

There really are no good choices.

The buyout is the problem for sure. A couple mil extra a year is a drop in the bucket.

Sexton will put a lot of names out there to get his clients raises.

Oh good, scratching Key off my list. So, no one really big hey. What are the no one really big names on ‘the’ list?

It seems thats a plausible number for the top twenty or so teams. An nfl qb gets twice that alone. There is some kind of ratio that applies.
of course. Thats the case for every school trying to hire a coach. Theres a price for Fisch straight out of Arizona and a new price if he wins 9-10 games this year at Washington. If he were to win a playoff game, he gets another new price. Or we go to a Golesh. Our last four hires have been bargain shopping. We probably go bargain shopping again. Napier was some very expensive bargain shopping when you add in the buyiut. Id rather pay 13 mil a year and have a smaller buyout. Id have no problem guaranteeing three years at 13 mil instead of 8 mil with a large buyout.

Right now, no one knows. It is pretty fluid from what I am told. But, one thing I have been told is that Billy is going nowhere until the end of the year. Of course that could change if we end up in a clown situation which looks to be likely.

While I agree with you, you would have a hard time selling that. The precedent has been set. Jimmy will be out for a larger buyout this time. Book it. I will say it again, Golesh would not even be on the radar had the Gators not melted down and given USF the win.

But I thought you know who’s on the actual list? I’m prepared to not be impressed. Lay it on me..

Theres plenty of Golesh's out there. Im not saying him in particular, just another guy like the last four that we dont have competition for.

IF "Billy is going nowhere until the end of the year", then Napier is going to DESTROY Florida football. Been a game attending/watching fan for 50+ years and I just can't do it anymore. The man is everything everyone has been saying, yet SS and the admin. is going to keep him around for another full season of this complete nonsense? I agree with Wanne15, we're already in a "Clown situation"... and have been for three years. What an absolute mess!!

After the past few years, is it really going to take 2-9 to realize BN cannot get the job done? Come on!!!!!! Just let him go so everyone knows the job is open.

Curious - why so adamantly opposed to Brent Key? He’s knocked off more than one team we can’t figure how to beat with a far stronger roster

At UF, the criteria should be a high IQ passing offense head coach aged 40 to 55. Kiffin, Lashlee, Fisch are my top candidates. Cignetti is too old. Fran Brown intrigues me. Who else?

Muschamp going to South Carolina is a downgrade

mcelwain going to central Michigan is a downgrade

Mullen going to UNLV is a downgrade

all of those were also downgrades in pay

Everyone knows the job will be open...keeping him for now doesn't impact a coaching search whatsoever. In fact it gives cover to potential candidates.....if Kiffen gets asked about uf by the media he simply says "they have a coach"
