I didnt say anything about current leadership. Just stating the facts on 10-win Lane. The hatred driven insanity on here wrt to picking the guru to lead us out of the wilderness is comical.

The standard used to be SEC titles and top 10 finishes. It should still be close to that, but the college football landscape has changed, and we've struggled through more downs than ups since Urban left. So at this point the standard should just be competent football and winning seasons. By that, I mean it should be the bare minimum here for ANY coach whether it's a proven hire or an up-and-comer or anyone else you want to name.

Since the last 15 years have been mostly dreadful, we really need someone with a high floor. A sure thing. I don't know if Kiffin would win titles here, but I'm fairly certain we would be in the playoff hunt more often than not, and that's good enough for now IMO.

I understand what you are asking for, but it took Kiffin 4 years to do that. And heck, without an injury to DJ Napier might have beaten uga last season also. And how do we know what a top team is?

Go on and broker the deal. No one is coming to UF for under $9 per season. That is the price of admission. Jimmy Sexton will make it so.

So every coach from a non-power conference is Billy Napier. None of them will ever be successful at a big school. Got it.

Because of DeBoer, Fisch has a $10 million buyout this year. Also, he is making more than BN. So, I find it exceedingly unlikely we pony up the $ to get him.

What does everyone think of Eli Drinkwitz?

I love his offensive scheme and his coaching style. He’s able to get talent out of the portal that maybe other schools seem to look past. He’s a great recruiter as well. It seems like he’s a great developer of QB’s.

I do think the guy is kind of jerkish, but to me I think he could do great at a traditional winning program like UF.

This is one of the best jobs in the country with plenty of money. Right can compete for championships every year.

I’m in the minority but I don’t want Kiffen. I don’t trust him
Give me Dan Lanning all day every day. Proven winner, great culture, successful in the Sec as a coordinator.

interesting point you make about Kiffen - I worry if we hire LF too. Great coach but I don’t trust him or his culture, kind of amoral. He reminds me of Jimbo Fisher(not in personality). You may win for a minute but at what cost and how long does he stay and when he leaves is the program burned down(I know what we have now. That is not what I mean.) I can probably be convinced but I’m not there yet.

We are not FSU; we do have standards. And before anyone says we have standards now but a loser program, I agree. But I also believe UF can win and have standards. BTW the UF job is a better job the Oregon’s.

    Come at me!!!!!It is!

Imagine hiring a coach from like, I don't know, the Mountain West conference. No way that could ever lead to 2 NC's.

So you would pay him $9 mil per? If so, put your money where your mouth is. The next coach at UF is getting that that deal.

I think it's funny to hear people call Kiffin a douche when Eli seems 10x douchier. At least to me. Maybe he's a decent coach, but I can't stand Drinkwitz and I don't think he's cut out for a bigger job than Missouri.
