I can't wait to see our new stadium. I wonder how it will compare to the Ole Miss stadium?

I would bet there are a lot of similarities. Probably a few unique touches we will have but much the same basic setup. Pretty impress the reference to the number of season ticket holders they have there.

Cover the playground. DO NOT leave it open to where a long foul ball can hit it!!!! Use the A&M model for the playground.

Sorry, as a parent of two young kids, the Oxford playground (and LSU) scare the hell out of me.

But the kids love chasing, and getting the foul balls! Maybe cover - “net” the foul ball - to protect the kids. but have the balls collect and be delivered to the playground at a save speed...?

(sarcasm) Dang maybe you would like to see pitching machines installed along side the playground zipping random 80 mph fastballs across the playground and call it dodge ball for the kids. You might want to hold any ideas of putting a playground near the football practice facility.

Kids have it so easy now.

When I was a kid I showed up for BP at the old Comiskey Park and you would have to fight for a baseball harder than you would have to fight for a rebound in a hard fought basketball game. Even if you got it cleanly you had to protect it or else it was wrested from you. It was like there was a 5 second rule: If you can keep it for 5 seconds it was yours.

Now kids run to the old guy that got the ball and try to be the cutest one and have it handed to them.

And they really need to stay off my lawn as well.

My son is 2. For an 8 year old, I am on board. A legitimate view.

A 2 year old likes slides and shouldn’t have to worry about being hit by a foul ball!!!

A bunch of Darwinians on this board... :)

Two year olds need to be supervised by their parents. You should be out there catching the foul balls for them!

Way back in the day when I was in second grade my parents thought that it was fine for me to walk from my public school to the local Catholic school on Wednesday afternoons for catechism classes. It was about a one mile walk on the Southside of Chicago across two main arteries. I thought that it was great. There was a park that I could walk though (just a little out of the way) and I could use the swings for a while. I liked it. Nobody cared if I was a little late for the classes. They gave me 30 minutes to make the walk.

Even back then my parents got $h1t about it from some parents. I was more than OK with it and never complained. The walk was the best part of my week at school.

    Things sure are differnt now.

    LOL.

I had mothers calling me about how well their children were doing in my classes at UF and I had to tell them the ins and outs of FERPA and how I could not tell them anything without their child's permission. Would they be a Sikorsky Skycrane parent?
