2:20 tee time with A&M and G Tech. It seems we got the afternoon. Not sure how they did the tie break. All the teams ahead of us are going in the morning.
That's unfortunate. Probably came down to the 5th score. Ours were terrrrible both days. Team scores are averaging about 8 strokes higher in the afternoon through the first 2 rounds, so barring a change in conditions, I think it's going to be a tall order to advance, but let's hope for the best.
Early groups all scorching it.....top 10 teams all under par halfway thru the day. UF will really have to play well
of the top 15 teams those out have 4 teams under par and 3 even,. back nine seems much tougher than the front
I'd guess more wind in the afternoon is the biggest factor there, but just my guess. Wilkes subbed in for round 3. Not surprising. Gators +1 after the first few holes, Kansas and Stanford backed up quite a bit so the door is open a bit for top 15.
Right at top 8 needs to be the target....that's where they are now Castillo scuffling again, he is the dropped score as they are approaching the turn
+3 on the day and in a three way tie for 9th, 2 strokes back of Arkansas who are in the clubhouse hoping to hold that 8th spot.
We don't have to be top 8 today, just need to make the cut (top 15) and stay in touch to give ourselves a chance to move into top 8 tomorrow. +5 (+30 overall). Seems to be good but 16-18 is very tough on this course. Guessing the cut will be somewhere around +37.
Very solid finish. Got in at +6, +31 overall, alone in 11th and 5 shots out of 8th. May end up being the best round of the afternoon. Work to do for sure, but we're still in it. Side note: can't remember ever seeing a golf tournament go so true to form - the top 7 ranked teams are the top 7 on the leaderboard (and nearly in order!) with a solid gap on the rest of the field.
Hope we can have a great round tomorrow because we have to pass 3 teams while having 4 teams chase us. Go Gators, you can do it!
Halfway thru the round, UF with the best round of the day so far 4 under and one stroke out of the crucial 8th slot Tex Tech +26 UF +27 AU +27 Arky +31...they are 5 over and only halfway thru the first 9. Rough start for the hogs
I think The unscored player is the tiebreaker, and we have had some really bad scores. Likely need to clear the field for eighth by 1.
But is it the unscored round for TODAY, or cumulative for all 4 days? As it stands now Biondi at 3 over is the worst for today....but you are right, some brutl scores for the week
looks like they all started on the back 9, the hardest by far of the front/back.UF played the back nine, counting all 5 score, in plus 32 through 3 rounds.played the front nine in plus 29 counting all 5 scores. i thought they were better on the front than that
