Whew. Quite the beatdown.
Welcome to big boy ball Zags.
Some twitter posts about Andrew Nembhard (some good, some critical):
Andrew Nembhard has an entire country rooting for him
From the Florida Alligator:
A year ago, Andrew Nembhard had 16 points, eight assists, and just one turnover for Florida against Baylor. It wasn’t enough. And he might need to give Gonzaga as much or more.
Baylor vs. Florida - Game Recap - January 25, 2020 - ESPN
How many times is Andrew Nembhard going to lose his dribble with nobody around him?
Andrew Nembhard is quietly having a really bad game
Andrew Nembhard's 9 points (4 assists, 4 reb) are the most scored by a Canadian in an NCAA men's championship game.
Baylor wins 86-70 in what was never a game
AN showed nothing positive, and not sure why he transferred to play the 2 spot.
This is what happens when a really good team that plays in a bad conference goes up against a really good team that plays in a good conference.
Not to mention that this Baylor team is the most physical team in the country this year.
No confetti? The NCAA sucks. These kids deserved normalcy.
Wait he played for a team that won all their games in the season, got to play for a great coach, with great players, went to a Final Four, made the championship game and you're questioning why he transferred?
Gonzaga plays nearly every top team during the season and proved they were real making it to the championship game. They just weren't ready for the heat Baylor was bringing.
Freezing cold take here.
Gonzaga had a great season. But I don’t know what I would say to my guys were I Mark Few. I would probably say something like, “you are my guys, you have nothing to be ashamed of it feel bad for... there were times during the season I thought you were the best ever. Then came tonight, the night you pooped the bed, the night you let me down, the night I had to moti-speak post game to a group of bed crapping losers... the night my greats esa evaporated when you guys failed to meet the standards I set for you... but hey, that’s just me... get some sleep boys. Tomorrow it’s all stadiums and lay ups.”
Come again? lol
After two or three bad possession their coach said “my fault” on a turnover and then there was a TV timeout and they went back to their normal offense. During that stretch the Zags missed 4 free throws in a row, one was the front end of a 1-1. They could have gotten it down to 9 if they made all those free throws while Baylor was slowing it down and not scoring for 3+ minutes. The difference between what Baylor did and what Florida did in their game was that Baylor realized their mistake and went back to their regular offense, while Florida stayed in stall ball mode for the last 9+ minutes.
Bring on the disagree bacons. I can handle it.
Not many teams (read none)would have beaten Baylor the last two games. Brilliant performances in both.
Feel bad for the Zags though, second time they’ve gone down in the title game.
yea, when his goal is to get paid playing PG..
He got far deeper into the tournament than he would have at UF
Nembhard will get paid to play PG.
