I guess I'll have to be partial to "Andrew Johnson yourself."

My posts get edited all the time just for using adjectives to describe Trump. :emoji_joy:

Because that's in NOT her job, that is the purview of the president of the United States to do... NOT hers. And he has selected Mike Pence.

She thinks that she is the judge jury and executioner of the whole country. That power falls under the DOJ, NOT the speaker of the House. She's trying to push for impeachment 2.0 That much is clear.

I wonder how much Chinese agents are paying her to do this? Maybe she needs to be investigated...

Um, it quite literally IS her job. The House controls the purse and one of the checks on the executive is that the people through their duly elected Representatives engage in oversight of the executive branch including HOW that money is used. And the Speaker of the House creates ad hoc committees, including those on oversight. This is basic high school civics about how a republican form of government works.

    Smh...

And she already has a committee picked out... there are five people in it. So, what she want's to do is the same but with more power. It would be redundant for her to do this. There is an oversight committee already.

Dude. It’s $2T. That’s $2,000,000,000,000. The President doesn’t get run around with that as a blank check. The people have a right to know how their money is being used and whether there need to be more restrictions and/or reform. There’s nothing wrong with an ad hoc bipartisan committee. Throwing the issue to Government Oversight alone (and it’s Democratic control, which I’m surprised you want) with the rest of the committee’s responsibilities is a pretty bad decision. In fact, if you were being intellectually honest, you would be first in line for transparency for money we are going to be paying for generations.

Trump is NOT running around with the money... it's been negotiated by both the House, Senate and the POTUS. His team at the Treasure (Steve Mnuchin) Department has the Congressional approved power to control the funds...

And the Legislature has every right to make sure that it is being spent properly, that the checks (not financial notes, checks on power) they instituted are sufficient, that additional checks aren’t necessary, and that the government isn’t being fleeced.

Rick, this is basic governance. C’mon man, you’re charging the wrong windmill. If a GOP Congress passed Obama TWO TRILLION DOLLARS, you’d want to know that it was being used properly, efficiently, and correctly.

Where is this in the constitution? In our laws? Can you provide a legal foundation for these claims?

Yes, NC...that is fact. As Mnuchin stated in this afternoon's presser.....a bipartisan oversight committee was already approved in the bill (again, a bill that received overwhelming support from both sides).

Its redundant....but I really don't have a huge problem with it..its a lot of $$$. Just wish it came from someone else and didn't have Jim “tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision” Clyburn running it.

The legislative branch is supposed to provide oversight of the executive branch. We aren't a dictatorship in which the President gets to oversee all oversight of the executive branch himself, even if you would currently like to be in one.

Oh no, redundancy in Washington. Maybe the Senate and the House shouldn't have committees that sound the same either. Woooo!

You may want to reread the Constitution. Or the bill. Instead of just lobbing partisan Hail Mary’s.

You say it without saying it. It is an art. Embed the insult in the argument.

For example, " respectfully, I disagree." Note that the "R" is not capitalized. Only the "I." Right in the middle. Like extending a middle finger.

This board is a test to see if you can keep one step ahead of the mods.
