https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/18/us/samantha-woll-case-update/index.html I don’t know much about this case, but they say DNA evidence supported the case, they found her blood on his clothes. The accused killer didn't know her, so it appears to be random attack. Seems to be complicated by her ex boyfriend, who was depressed and on medication, having a panic attack after the murder, calling the police, and telling them he may have killed her and forgot about it… which was played in court… police cleared him as a suspect and he said he did not have such thoughts or panic attacks after changing his medication. The defendant was only convicted of lying to the police. The jury was hung on two of the major charges, so I guess they can redo the trial.
