His resume is impressive. And was recently a defensive Coordinator for the lions in the NFL where he was coaching our own Jarrad davis so it's not like he has been away from the game.

Maybe we could use his long-snapper walk-on son, too?

I remember when he whipped us pretty good at Syracuse in 91.

I always thought he was an offensive coach though.

Some of his Syracuse teams were very offensive...

When I read he was "special" I thought of something different.

I hope he does not turn out to be as "special" as I thought he might be.

    Wow! Great hire!

I think Paul Pasqualoni is one of the most underrated coaches in the history of college football. What he did at Syracuse through the 90s with limited recruiting was pretty amazing. He definitely got the most out of the limited talent he had.

I think Mullen, and his staff, can learn a lot from him.

But can he pack our recruiting classes with 5 stars and direct the immediate upgrade of our facilities, all while coaching RBs, OL and safeties at the same time. If not I don’t want him.

He's being hired to basically help Mullen analyze opposing defenses. That seems pretty damn valuable.

What the heck is a "special assistant" ?

Is he still on Lions' payroll, so we don't have to pay him?

I think Alabama started this with what appears to be an unlimited number of analysts, many of which spent a year at "Camp Saban" and parlayed that into to a top job.

As much as I like the hire for us, I think it is overall bad for college football as the rich continue to get richer

I went to many games with coach P at the helm, and he did remarkably well for Cuse. Cuse turned into the laughing stock of D1 after they let him go.

Also, keep in mind coach P had quite a few familiar assistants on his staff at Cuse, many of which recently (Mullen was a GA under him at Cuse!) added him to their own staffs when they became HCs (Lion's Patricia and BC's Addazio). Coach Slingblade hasn't repaid him a favor yet, but P has an impressive coaching tree- probably some others that escape me as well.

Rather nostalgic for me growing up young with Cuse, now he's coming to Florida under his former GA. Looks like a good move to me!

Isn't that what Butch Jones was doing for Saban? If so, easily a huge upgrade over Bama.

I remember that game well. I was in Boone, NC at a Holiday Inn. I was lucky to get a room, because it was App State's homecoming. We could never catch up to them, and they pre-empted the game at the end to start a basketball game. Typical North Carolina.
