No argument there.
Can we finally get around to wearing chrome please? I'd love to see our colors chromed out.
Btw, if I haven't gone on the record over the last 2 months I will now. Dan Mullen is the man. He seems much more excited/proud to be a gator than I thought he would Be. Im not sure why I would have thought anything different.
I pray (not really) that this chapter is light years better than the last 2.
Excellent. Coach gets it. Kids want different, so different is the mode. Absolutely the only pragmatic move.
I'm with you. Bring back the classic unis from Spurrier's era, throw in orange jerseys and white pants here and there, and be done with it.
The 90's unis are our brand, and we dominated in them.
I'd even like to see the 1966 throwbacks once in a while. Seeing Leak in that gear against Bama at home was sweet!
either the pants or the jerseys should always be white. All blue, all orange, and (God forbid) orange on blue all look like freaking pajamas
Blue jerseys and white pants are best. When we have to go white up top, either blue or orange pants work great. And orange helmets - always orange helmets.
That said, I’m fine with the occasional way cool departure (including chrome helmets) to play to the players, but it better be done right.
NAW, It's just that many on here are expecting the worst.
And on the sensitive thing, right back at ya
I just want to win. If crazy uniform combos are what it takes to get recruits excited about UF, and Mullen improves the product on the field, that leads to better players and more wins. Just win, baby.
Put the Script Gator on the Jersey
I'm not expecting the worse or even the worst. I was just making a joke.
No worries and that Worse/Worst - Cell Phone
Maybe I am too optimistic. The more I hear Mullen and these coaches I get jazzed. Just the changes in Special Teams S&C, and Total Numbers should win us a few more games. I am thinking 8-4 or 9-3 First Year.
I did a double take on that one
jazzed >> jizzed
I am hoping for at least 8-4. Of course I was expecting that last year. With injuries and suspensions very hard to predict. I could even see 12-2 if all things go our way.
We have exercised all demons of any kind from any combination we ever had! We have also lost miserably and disgracefully in every good combos we had as well. And, it don't mean squat!! SO...the way I see it, bring on the Oregon whacko combos. Mix and match it all.
The Gator colors are orange and blue. The uniforms these days only use orange and blue as a vague reference point. I'm proud of the boys no matter what they look like.
This is a new era. Change is needed. Change is good.
But black uni's in 105 degree heat?
Bazza?! That buzzkill? Are you serious?
I'm all for a blue helmet but I'd prefer an actual realistic Gator head on the side if they could create a good one. And re 96 NC, we wore blue pants and white jerseys. NTIM.
Well, being an extreme conservative, I've always felt that when one represents some symbolic construct, whether it be a Nation, a Restaurant or an athletic Team, that the look should be consistent, so that people can immediately recognize who/what is represented.
The modern Flash and Glitz orientation appears superfluous to me, although I do understand that anyone born since Ron Regan's presidency, and, to a certain extent, since Eddie Bernays first got women to smoke with his Propaganda (a wonderful book by Bernay's), and since baby boys changed from pink outfits to blue ones, with girls switching from blue to pink thanks to 1920/30s propagandistic advertising, that Flash and Glitz are used to sway human masses, who are extremely easy to mislead due to the natural herd orientation.
Here ya go...just throw some numbers on it:
