Ty Majeski won the Snowball. Elliott qualified 42nd and missed the cut, only 3/10 second off the pole. After winning the last chance qualifier race, he started the Snowball Derby 31st and drove to finish 3rd after 300 laps.

Here is a link to a podcast on Hemmings. Brock Yates Jr. talks about a lot of things, some Cannonball Run stories, and today's version, One Lap of America.

Breaking News: Daytona road course Feb 21, 2021
"NASCAR announced Tuesday that Daytona International Speedway will now also host the second race of the 2021 NASCAR season.
The Speedway will be the site for a Daytona Road Course race, replacing Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, because of the surging COVID-19 pandemic, which once again shut down large sections of California earlier this week.
The revised schedule means NASCAR will now spend the first two weeks of the season in Daytona, and the first three weeks in Florida.
The Daytona 500 is still set for Feb. 14, followed by the Road Course race Feb. 21 and races at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Feb. 28."

Today the speed limit was about 150mph. Took some hot laps riding in a V6 Mustang. I was supposed to go in a Shelby Super Snake o_O but I bumped into this guy from back home on my way to it in the garage. 1/2 hour goes by fast like this.

At least he/she can drive this collectible rather than just hanging it on a wall, but for the life of me I just don't understand dropping that kind of coin on anything.

It'll probably just go to a few shows, sit in a private collection. I love it when an owner takes them on track, like the Celebration Exotic Car Festival.

IMSA starts this week, 50 cars entered in the 24 Hours. People bringing cars and germs from all over the globe. Racers from across the USA are at all the Florida short tracks. My race schedule is packed now thru May.

Over 300 midget cars and one dwarf (Rico Abreau) raced the Chili Bowl all week. Christopher Bell was 2nd chasing Kyle Larson with about 5 laps to go and bicycled into a vicious flipping wreck. He was ok. Larson won, his 2nd in a row.

Just got home from an awesome day of IMSA racing and the first thing that pops up on my screen is a live video from Lake City, FL on the newly renamed and re-opened All-Tech Raceway. 56 of the best Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series drivers.
Who is in Victory Lane? Kyle Larson
Nobody has ever hopped into so many different cars and win like he does. Amazing talent.

Some years back, I went to watch vintage race cars run at Sebring. Someone pointed out a 1966 or 67 Ferrari 275GTB ($2.0 M + value) that was being driven by an heir of Goldman Sachs (last name Sachs). And he drove it very hard.

One day, I'd love to go to Goodwoods Show in England.

One more thing, this January, Mecum auto auction in Kissimmee, had the 1968 Bullitt Mustang go up. 2 former owners, both had paid $3500 for it. Seller owned it 14 yr. Rust on it, very high mileage, had been a daily driver, rough condition, but motor w/ 350 hp was good, and driven my McQueen went for $3.4 M...with auction pre it was $3,740,000.

Another year and no WEC cars in the Rolex 24 at Daytona. I wish they could somehow make this finally happen one day.

WEC is not coming to Sebring either. Two years ago might turn out to be a once in a lifetime. It was fun but I had just as much fun at the 12 Hours in Nov. and will again in March.

TODAY was a Global Mazda MX-5 Cup race. My driver led almost the whole race, but then a g/w/c finish. He led them off the final turn and got drafted on both sides, finished 8th. They race again tomorrow, I'll bet its even closer at the finish. www.imsa.tv
