Moskowitz, expert in disaster management, warns FEMA ‘is going to fail’ during hurricane season

    Congressman Jared Moskowitz issued a dire warning just days before the start of the Atlantic Hurricane season, predicting that the Federal Emergency Management Agency “is going to fail this summer.”

    Moskowitz delivered the ominous assessment to his colleagues during a House committee hearing. “I would tell you that the secretary of Homeland Security has turned FEMA into the Newark airport,” he said, explaining that “I’m giving you the current state of affairs in an agency that has been absolutely destroyed.”

    During his presentation on Wednesday, Moskowitz added that, “We may get lucky and hopefully we do. Hopefully we don’t have a bad hurricane this season. Hopefully we don’t have some unforeseen disaster … because they have decimated FEMA in ways that we won’t know until it happens.”

    This is very concerning as Moskowitz has been working with FEMA and disaster really for years. Even to Desantis leaned on him for help. I would hope that the house would be open to reviewing his FEMA biklthat is co-sponsored by Byron Donalds to make some needed changes to FEMA but we know that it won't see the light of day.

    Not sure about this. I mean, whatever should happen - will FEMA have failed if Donald J. Trump says that it didn't?

    why would this be a surprise- they failed miserably during both Helene and Milton last hurricane season

    Why is it with the left that anytime a member of the Trump makes a comment, if it turns out they are wrong, it was a lie. As a fan of UF sports, over the years I have heard many UF HC's say in the days leading up to the game that our team was ready, only to get beaten. did he lie or was he just wrong? I hope for our Country's sake, she is correct, but just based upon the performance of Fema in the past it would not surprise me if she is wrong. Fortunately, Guvner DeSantis says Florida will not need to rely on FEMA.

    That's what happens when a person lies constantly and then uses a sharpie or a fake AI image to double down on the lie or when they tell us that gas is less than $2 a gallon

    Usually it's because Trump is knowingly telling a lie. That's why the left says that.

    He lies about literally almost everything. See his lies about eating dogs, Muslims in the USA celebrating 9/11, the president of SA, FEMA. Hell, he recently told an obvious lie about the price of gas. Almost everything Trump says is a lie because he knows that none of his followers will read enough to know better. And that they don't care.

    A football coach is clearly just giving opinion in most cases. And he usually has incomplete information, such as about the other team

    Great question though; I've frequently wondered the same thing, and this prompted me to really think about it!

    It's not just football coaches, it's many other professions. Take weathermen. They are wrong a lot and nobody says that they lie! People just go after Trump! :(

    He lies because he know his followers will believe every word of his. It's like an abusive relationship. They know they're being lied to but they are unable to leave

    because someone said something that did not work out does not mean they deliberately lied, it just means they were wrong

    when you do not like someone it is easier to say they lied
