Maybe we are not apprehending them? That would certainly explain the difference.

We love them, but from a distance.

We have about 4 times as many border patrol agents now as we did when apprehensions were at their peak in the 90s.

and how many more people crossing? also, 4 times 50from the 1990's, or how many were there back then? 4 times a small number is not much compared to the 1.8 million who were caught in the last year.

He already pointed out that apprehensions were 3x as high in the 90s.

Because the unhinged leftist doesn't care about them.

And the "unhinged" right does? Face it the extremes of both sides care very little for anyone who isn't them, doesn't think like them, & don't further their agenda. PLENTY of candidates on both sides with promises & photo ops in poor or undeserved communities & nothing gets done for the most part.

Want to kill 2 birds with one stone? There's a mass exodus up here/rust belt areas because places like downtown Buffalo (except for the rich people enclaves who send their kids to private schools), Niagara Falls (the US side), etc are absolute garbage. Process the immigrants & send them to areas up north. Lackawanna has a very large immigrant population & for all its messes they really have helped turn it around. It would relieve the load in the border areas & still help immigrants coming through.

For all the complaining from the MAGA’s about border, you have to wonder why they were opposed to a bipartisan immigration reform bill way back in 2013. Apparently they have zero interest in border security, but a high interest in border theater and politics.

We have done a worse job of taking care of our own poor people than we have controlling our borders for many decades under both Democratic and Republican rule. How do you propose we take care of our poor citizens?

Those poor people are making rational decisions. This does not mean that everyone can come here without waiting in line to come legally. As for men competing in women's sports, it's ridiculous. Dems pretend they are for women and minorities but their policies are not. Very hypocritical.

People who present themselves at the border and seek asylum are not “illegals.”

The people at issue are not those who sneak across the border or over-stay visas. This discussion is about people who present and apply for asylum.

Once you understand that asylum seekers are legal, not “illegal,” the dislike of them must be based on something else. And, as we can see in the service industry, the absence of entry level immigrants has created shortages. So, there has been economic harm as a result of restricting legal crossings. Again, there must be something else.

So, when “illegals” cross the border only liberals are paying them?

The US citizens paying illegals should have their voting privileges suspended and spend time in jail and a criminal.

That's not correct either. The naturalization process is a completely different issue, and if you feel that process takes too long, we could always expand capacity there. Instead, we devote an overwhelming amount of resources to Border Patrol and ICE.

It's correct. Immigration, naturalization, whatever you want to call it takes time. A process. Forms to fill out, you know like a line. I'm here so I dont really care how long it takes.
