I hear all this terrible talk about Rivals ....but I find their scale to be quite accurate and I've been following recruiting since the late '80s. For one thing, all 3* and 4* are not the same .... there are high 4 * and low 4 *, that's why u can have the same # of players and another school be ranked higher.

Also, they are very strict in their rankings. They don't give out 5* stars like candy and that's one of the reasons I like them. Some years are a weak class and they rank them accordingly.

Let's say it's a weak year for TE's ....u could be the #1 TE in the country and still be a 4*.To me, that makes their rankings much more consistent and accurate.

Th? It’s amazing what some folks can bend and contort into meaning what they want it to. I agree with u but don’t give enough of shit to change my verbiage. Too old to go pc now

IMHO, 247 is just as reliable and even stingier with five star ratings. Their numerical ratings are very helpful in separating high four star players from lower rated four star prospects. Both sites are very good. None of the others are close.

Excellent Steve Shipp reference above. I remember when he came in with so much fanfare to the UF program. That was back in the day before camps, before big time rating services, before a lot of film, ... It turned out that Steve Shipp was really slow compared to Florida/Georgia kids and was never effective as a WR for UF. Way overrated. He was from somewhere in Mid-Atlantic States, maybe NC?

Yes, Shipp was from NC. Was so excited when we got him. I was real excited about Bobby Sabelhouse (sp?) too!

  12. Totally agree and I am only 34 so trust me....being anti PC is not just a certain age bracket.....people who want to be offended will look for a reason... look what happened to ex Gator Janoris Jenkins....called a fan who was critical of him a retard, had the audacity to not cave into the PC image and apologize, stands by his beliefs, and gets released...ridiculous....oh and TH is Too Hot (the political forum aka Trump bashing forum)....but anyway, don't want to hijack the thread anymore so I will just leave it as 247 Sports in my view is the best recruiting service...ESPN a close 2nd.....never trusted Rivals or Scout

I hope he can catch the ball, because if he can then he would make a great receiver, IMHO. He has speed to burn.
