Yesterday, I learned that Alabama has a 5.4 million dollar budget for recruiting over and above MIL. Not so smart at mutt u has a 5 million dollar budget. Toothless Tenneessee has over 3 million. How can we realistically expect, regardless of the coach to recruit on the same level when our recruiting budget is reportedly just over 1,5 million? If this doesn't change and PDQ the gumps, mutt, and toothless wonders will continue to get better while we waller in mediocrity.

With the new recruiting rule the price of recruiting will go up, so we have to increase it just to keep up with all the official visits that comes with the new rule..

There is a limit of OV that schools can host …so shouldn’t effect that much.

    Did you read this yet?

Effective July 1, there will be new recruiting rules for official and unofficial visits. Prospects will no longer have a limit on the number of schools they can visit on official visits. However, prospects will be limited to one official visit per school. The only time that prospects will be allowed a second official visit is if there is a coaching change that takes place after the first official visit has been taken.

Of course, it could have the opposite effect. Programs with large recruiting budgets will be able to handle the increased visit volume. Schools with smaller budgets might struggle to keep up. Resource allocation for athletic departments now gets even more convoluted.

I realize recruits can take unlimited OV but I don’t see where the number has changed for schools. The last I heard was 80 per class…unless that changed and I missed it.

Can schools afford to host more official visitors and families “and” does their staff have the time for more visitors during those campus visit periods? Time consuming process

I believe it's much lower than 80...I want to say 56 but I can't recall exactly

As to the original post, until you know what is or is not included in "recruiting budgets" for each school then there really isn't an apples to apples comparison. I would ask where you feel UF is not spending adequate amounts of money within their budgetary structure.

I couldn’t remember the # either. I was just trying to convey that if schools can only host a limited number of OV, I don’t see how increasing it for recruits really changes anything. It may squeeze out more visits that might otherwise be available for lower ranked guys but it wouldn’t change much.

Yeah, if they keep the cap for schools then all it does is hurt the lesser recruited guys that get pushed out because some prima donna wants to take 20 visits

    In my head--- UF
You can budget for it but not spend it.
It’s a bad look for UF

There’s still something Bama and Georgia are buying that we aren’t.

When we get top classes over Bama and Georgia, we can let it go.until then, some is lacking.

I can’t control what others or institutions do with their money so I see no need to CONSTANTLY hash it out. It is what it is. I personally don’t ever see UF competing with UGA or Bama in that aspect.
