If so, it would then make sense for liberals to change their view of him.

For me it was when he started siding with the far with the bs impeachments and lying stating Trump was responsible for January 6, The only ones that truly believe that are the far left and those who lean left

Gonna let you in on a little secret.....the biggest reason Biden is President is because so many conservatives thought and voted exactly like Romney is describing. And it very possibly is going to happen again....because true conservatives are shouted down by the cult, and far too many GOP politicians lack the guts to stick to their principles.

Right. So he didn't become less conservative politically. He just made a personal decision you didn't like. So saying he isn't conservative is false.

Not really. Being a conservative has defining principles, policies and a platform.

I get that labeling everyone not conservative that goes against Trump is what the modern GOP does. But words have meanings.

McConnell and others also said Trump was responsible. They just asserted legal arguments for why they couldn't or shouldn't vote to convict.

As we've all learned over the last 7 years, people that call themselves conservatives generally aren't. Again. These terms have definitions.

As a conservative I don't like Romney but if he was the republican party nominee (we all know he would never get it again), he would get my vote since he's still just a step above any liberal. Any republican that gets lucky and was to beat Trump out to get the nomination I would vote for them.

That pretty much says it all. Channing asked what how Romney's policies or platform had changed. All you came up with was that he wasn't sufficiently faithful to Trump. Nothing about platform or policy.
