I would be surprised if Miss St. hired a coordinator. I hope Grantham stays on for a while. In any case, knowing the way CDM is, I'm pretty sure he has a succession plan in place if some of his coaches left.

Strong is probably #1 since he doesn't have a job and is a known commodity.

But I'd see if Mattison was interested again (he's co-DC at osu, so maybe he'd be interested if he was the sole DC here).

    Joe Rossi, Minnesota

Vance Bedford,? No idea what he is doing now?

Travaris Robinson, usce - it's way past time for him to cut the cord from Muschamp.

Agreed on Chizik. I really like him as an analyst on the SEC network and have never heard him say anything negative about the Gators or the program. As a HC , meh

Chizik was a good DC. Mack's Defenses at UTex significantly dropped off after Chizik left for ISU (I don't think I need to tell folks who his successor at UTex was). I don't know if he has the personality to recruit well enough to be a ultra-successful HC. Dunno about Grantham as a HC...although he is definitely one of the better DC's in College that hasn't been a HC yet (Venables being #1, I would say).

Bad for Todd. He is a good coach, but very emotional and an average recruiter.

Miss. State is where coaches go to die. Mullen survived State, but Todd won't.

If TG leaves I think we should consider Jim Leonhard from Wisconsin. Young coach who played in the NFL after a solid college career starting as a walkon. Ended up having a ten year career in the big leagues. Check out the Wisky defense compared to UF....not bad for someone who only started coaching in 2016!

His defense this year ranked #1 in third down conversion pct (UF was 40th),
#5 in total defense (UF was 9th),
#6 against the rush (UF was 8th),
#12 in passing yards allowed (UF was 32nd),
#13 in team passing efficiency defense (UF was 31st),
#23 in 1st down conversions (UF was 10th),
#11 in red zone defense (UF was 3rd)

Mattison and Strong were co-defensive coordinators on our 2006 National championship team... Mattison liked to just let the front four cause pressure.... while Strong liked to blitz a whole lot.... I rather have Strong come back.... he's a great defensive coordinator... I don't care that he was a bad head coach.... some guys are just built to be a coordinator

2020 is a brutal schedule for Miss St. other than Arky, New Mexico there are no gimmies Mizzu, NC State and Ky could be in reach.

I like Leonhard a whole lot.... the thing is that I don't think he would leave Wisconsin because he use to play there

I think he could be sold on the Florida weather and the recruits that are available to him here! Plus it's not like they recruited him, he had to walk on and still didn't get a scholly until his senior year although he had been a starting safety.

If MSU wants an up and comer I’d go with Billy Napier. If they want to win next year and recruit better than they’re supposed to, my first call would be to Butch Davis’ agent - today. I think he would put a competitive team on the field.
