The women celebrated jumping two spots to No. 19 in the AP poll on Monday with their 11th consecutive win later Monday night in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. When LSU crushed Samford 83-47 before a nice crowd of 6,000-plus in their final nonconference tuneup, the Tigers had their longest winning streak in 14 seasons — dating to the 2007-08 campaign that ended in the Final Four. Mulkey's team begins Southeastern Conference play on Thursday night at No. 13 Georgia (11-1).
