Not sure if this has been a discussion thread or not yet, but does anyone think that Mike White is still the answer here at UF? Or do we need to move on from him?

I honestly have lost some interest in UF basketball, especially after watching the last 3 game skid after beating Auburn, just seems so inconsistent. I'll concede we've played some good teams (Baylor was great) but not powerhouse teams that we shouldn't beat on a regular basis. We're currently 12-8 and I'm not seeing how we get into the tournament this year unless we make a remarkable turnaround. Even if we made the tournament, we most assuredly would be a 2nd round out.

Part of me wants to bring the old 2000's back and just bring Billy G home to Gainesville. I have no clue how he's feeling out at OKC but with the talent they've traded away what is the incentive for him to remain in the NBA? I was reading that his only good player left (Chris Paul) might be a trade target for the clippers so who knows. Just a thought during the long offseason. Cannot believe it's only January 30th.

This discussion is ongoing indirectly in a lot of the threads right now.

At the moment, I don't. However, I still support MW until he is no longer HC.

Billy D is arguably COTY so far nearing the all star break, so I do not see him coming back.

Has there been any discussion about Mike being the answer to men's basketball success? Hmm, let me think.

No, I don't recall any discussions about Mike's coaching acumen.

Mike White when asked what he thought about fans getting disillusioned with the direction of the program.
"I wasn’t aware at all, I don’t read any of it," White said of the outside noise. "I don’t care what anyone writes, says, at all -- anything. It’s not going to affect anything that I do, say, or my preparation for this practice, this game. I’m focused on having a great practice, hoping that we can tighten up defensively tomorrow, maintain some offensive rhythm and confidence, help these young men get better every day and hopefully steal one on the road. That’s it. That’s all you can do."
Sounds like he’s not in touch with very much in my opinion.

It's pretty much what he has to do. All of his time needs to be focused on the team.

Seems like he needs to focus on some of the stats as it relates to lineups and production. The fact that he is out of touch with fans isn’t surprising, the fact that he is seemingly unaware of the numbers is mind boggling.

I'd rather him say "I'm aware of the noise, and I'm going to do a better job so it can go away"

How do you know he is unaware of stats? In fact, how do any of us know what he peruses in a day's time?

If he is aware of stats and not playing to strengths, then the problems won’t be solved by him Hall.

Again, we don't know what he is working on or what he is aware of. It's all guesswork. I learned a long time ago the greatest variable is people. You can control certain things but people throw a whole different factor into the equation. What they will react to, How you get them to perform better, etc. People are not stats.
