Very, very possible it has a ripple effect that sees our own Darris Nichols be offered the Radford job.

If that happens, he needs to bring in a big, tall coach, who looks like he knows how to get other bigs. I’m talking about no smaller than 6’9”. This coach should be someone like Udonis Haslem, he could recruit bigs and develop them. Get some Gator players involved, this could help CMW with boosters also. Win win.

You correctly predicted that I would say, “so what”.

We had a guy named Haslem, too, but he was only 6'8".

Man, for as much grief we give White and staff for poor coaching, if Nichols gets the job he would be the third assistant to leave for a head coaching gig. That is ALOT for one staff. Seems the coaching fraternity has a lot more respect for our coaches than the fans, me included I must confess.

Leaving to become a head coach hardly represents “fleeing”.
It’s an aspiration of nearly all assistants, and is a nice achievement for any staff to have assistants promoted into such roles.

Well when they signed him, they said he was 6’9”.
I know for a fact, he was tough as nails and has kept the Miami Heat steady for almost two decades. At the highest level. No SEC team ever pushed us around while he was here, unlike the weak, skinny guys we have been putting out there for six years except for KJ. We need toughness like Baylor, if not, here comes FSU again to laugh at us. When will this ridiculous weak chuck and duck scheme end! You don’t win championships in D1 without being tough. So just keep dreaming like a lot of pumpers!

I think you are right... that we needed to get physically tougher. And I think we did.
I’d argue that we most often got physically beat out front. And I think we added a trio of rugged guards. In addition, Felder is a very physical player.

You do understand that being a good player has very little to do with being an effective coach? And that after 2 decades in the NBA it is unlikely he would have interest in an assistant coaching job anyway.
Oh, and as a freshman at UF he was listed at 6-7....so he doesn't meet your criteria anyway, but keep dreaming like a lot of pumpers

Ron Zook had four assistants from Florida go on to be head coaches

Udonis might be one of the exceptions, but probably not. He's already basically been an asst for the heat the last couple of years. I doubt he'd ever want to leave Miami so if he's coaching I bet it's down there

Felder looks good, I doubt he can do what KJ did, but toughness should be an attribute CMW should be looking for, also bigs with good height and weight. If Castleton doesn’t come back, we are in a world of hurt against an improving SEC that has always been physical, think Sir Charles, Shaq.

Agree with AKA, we did get abused down low a few games. As in when we got blown out.
