I'm thinking with this essentially brand new team, the youth, the excitement, that a return to MNM would be appropriate.

Wouldn't mind a little dunking expedition from Mr. Lewis!

Lets start the season in style!

I’d personally prefer watching a *legitimate* practice session. I yearn to watch one!

Make at midnight: i’ll Show :). Make it at noon: i’ll Show! Make it at 5 am, I’m up: i’ll Show up!

When is the first practice permitted? Does it correspond with a football home weekend?

Midnight Madness is great for all teams. But now the rules are relaxed and you can have "midnight madness" at 7:00! It is worthless but it builds up team spirit.

Hi BEH - Agree that it's just a nice "kick-off" to the season highlighting our new guys. But I would like it this year, most of us haven't seen these Gators yet so it would be nice to see a few passing and dunking drills.

I also think there should be an MM.

I wish we would do it.

Midnight Madness was originated by Lefty Driesel.

    A cheater.

Going up to the line to not quite cheat as a thumb in the nose.

Interesting footnote, though it clearly has a different intention now.

    What exactly is the intention?

    Generating student interest?

If we don't have that now we are doomed.

To kick off the season with some sort of excitement. It certainly isn’t intended to thumb our noses at the rule.
It’s simply a celebratory start to hoops season.

It would seem a little more uplifting for the players than a couple folding tables in the BHG parking lot 30 min before a football game.

It was always fun but the attendance was a few thousand at most. I was never sure if it was a pro or a con

Honestly, I don’t mind something tied to a football game. But give us plenty of notice. Put some marketing effort into it.

Ideally for me: as I’ve said - make it a legitimate practice. ... before or after the football game.

Before the football game: in the Early afternoon, make it a “tailgatoring picnic” type atmosphere in the cool AC of the Exactech.

After an afternoon football game: do some drills, maybe have a series of scrimmage games. Open the club concourse for “all”...need the hydration!

I am in! “Tailgating picnic “ in the Exactech!
Introduce all the new players, run a few drills, dunk contest, three point shooting contest and free throw contest. Maybe a couple of short scrimmages to see the guys in action. Coach talk about the upcoming season and his goals for the team. Autographs at the end for all.
Scott Strickland come and say something about ticketing to games and new ideas to help fill all the seats for all no shows. Just a few thoughts....

To show the excitement of the “Rowdy Reptiles” from our new “camera flip” positioning!!! Let’s get this party started the RIGHT WAY.

We all need to email ADSS with our desires to AVOID last season’s fiasco. Let’s do it *right* this year!
Scott needs to appoint @akaGatorhoops to plan this out right!

Could be used as a good recruiting tool as well if done right. I like the idea!
