Agreed. It takes far less to go undefeated in a crap conference than to have one loss in a superior one. I would have the seeding in that exact order.

There's technically not a spot saved for the SEC. It's a 4 team playoff with 5 power conferences. I'm kinda surprised it hasn't happened once before now.

Well, of course there's a chance. But, with their 2nd team QB that started last week iffy and gimpy at best, and possibly their 3rd teamer who only took a few more snaps this year than I did, slim and none are the best chances I can come up with.

 

I said this before and I'll say it again... FSU should be left out becasue they do NOT have their starting QB... AND THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING. They can NO longer be considered the 4th best team in the nation with a backup QB.

One half of this conference championship game lost to…. Kentucky. FSU beat LSU first game of the season and that is their best win of the season. As for the comment that an undefeated conference champion has never been left out? False. Look at Meyer with Utah in 2004 - undefeated.

The ONLY top 20 team FSU played this year was Clemson. You are correct that historically they are in, but no, they are not a top 4 team. I will make this bet now - if UGA and FSU do not get in and play in a bowl game, I’ll take UGA heads up for pretty much whatever you want to beat. This is not “right” but a perspective on winning probability (problem with the system now, I agree).
