could take a lot of the drama away by winning tonight.
Looks like Kessler is playing.
Fast start in doubles, up 2 breaks on every court
Michigan with a run, get a break back on 1 and 3, and even it at 4-4 on 2
Just play steady, crucial to get the doubles point
5-4 on 1 after being up 4 0
5-6 on 2 after being up 4 1
6-3 on 3 after being up 4 0
UF loses on 2 but Emma and Kessler hold on at 1
Losing on every court in singles, late in first sets
Ida fought back but lost 4-6
Kessler was up 2-0, has lost 8 straight
Emma crushed in first, little better in second but loses 4-6
Zein salvages a first set 7 5
Dimitrova 2 6, up 3 1 in second
Berlin getting crushed, will be done soon
Not much hope
Ida continues the recent nosedive, down 0 5
Kessler scrapping at 4 3 in second
Zein up 3 0 in second
Dmitrova wins second 6 1, nice rebound
Berlin loses 2 and 2, disappointing
Pulse still there, but it is faint
Ida with a bagel second set for the loss
Zein and Dimitova both up
Kessler blows another lead, faces multiple match points and holds them off to reach 5 5 still down a set though
Kessler with a quick break at love for 6 5, that last game had to be a bug momentum shift
Zein one game away at 5 1
Dimitrova at 2 0 in 3rd
Pulse strengthens, Kessler wins 11 of last 12 points and forces a third set
Zein wins, nice outing for her
Dimitrova now 3 0
Looking good, Kessler at 3 0 and Dimitrova at 5 1
Kessler match has been streaky so needs to keep the pedal down
Dimitrova wins 2 6, 6 2, 6 1
Kessler was up 4 0 and had won 7 straight games, now has lost 2 straight
Michigan with horrendous service game, 2 bad unforced errors and 2 double faults
Kessler with equally horrendous service game, also broken at love
another quick game, kessler only chance is for this girl to beat herself....only points uf wins are unforced errors
And beat herself is exactly what Michigan does, dumps easy shot at the net on match point
Absolutely epic comeback.
They lost five of six first sets. Michigan had 3 points to win the match without us having even won a singles match yet. Kessler dug deep and found a way back.
This is what I had been waiting on all year, one or two players deciding they would not let us lose when it mattered.
SC, would be gravy, but now hopefully a win Saturday afternoon and we are in. The SEC tournament would be padding.
Savannah St match should assure postseason. I will take it how we can get it, but man that last match was gift wrapped. UM player controlled 90% of the points down the stretch, but blew the sitters. I almost died when Kessler double faulted on her first match point, and sure enough she was dead in the water on the next point, but the opponent just dumps an open court volley into the net.
