Same dimensions. Same game. Are grown men/professional players so bothered by road games? I understand some of the intangibles like home crowd and such but I don't understand the disparity in play

The stats hint that the refs are paid by the game. Lots of blocks and offensive rebounds by the Cavs, even though the Celtics had way more assists, which usually doesn't leads to blocks (i.e. they move the ball around well). Cavs relied a lot on isolation which usually leads to blocks, at least in away games.

ESPN/STATS LLC ECF Game#7 Preview - Celtics brace for Cavaliers, James in Game#7

BOSTON -- It has been six years since LeBron James walked onto the TD Garden parquet and willed the Miami Heat to a elimination-avoiding victory over the Boston Celtics.

After scoring 46 points in another elimination-game special for the Cavaliers in Cleveland on Friday night, James returns to the scene of his 2012 magic and tries to do it again in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals Sunday night.

"We have one game to be able to compete for a championship, what more can you ask for?" James said Friday night after his seventh 40-point game in 17 outings in this postseason.

This will not be an easy task for James and his buddies, who will try to hand the Celtics their only loss in 11 postseason home games. The task also got tougher Saturday when it was announced that Kevin Love, who left Game 6 after banging heads with Boston's Jayson Tatum, is in the league's concussion protocol and is out for Game 7....

Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens dubbed Al Horford "outstanding" in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals, this after Horford got questioned about his quiet stat line in a potential closeout game after Friday's 109-99 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"[Horford] was really productive in the first quarter. He was outstanding," Stevens said on a conference call Saturday. "Every time he touched the ball in the post, it felt like we scored.

"Al does not care if he's the one that's scoring, he cares that our team scores."

Horford finished with 6 points on 2-of-8 shooting with 9 rebounds and 4 assists over 37 minutes in Game 6. But he endured a scoreless first half, which put a spotlight on him after the Cavaliers separated a bit during the second quarter... Read more here.

It’s amazing that Cleveland is only down 4.

Starting to doubt the Celtics' ability to close this 3point deficit

And so the season ends for the Celtics :( Ah well, they pushed the Cavs to the brink but still likely needed a superstar like Irving to realistically help them get over that hump (aka LeBron) to make it to the Finals. Hopefully next year will be that year for the C's :)

    :( :( :(

And with that, Al will watch the Finals from home (again). Great win by LBJ and the Cavs. It'll be interesting to see if this year will feature another Cavs/GSW match-up or if Harden and Houston find a way past the Ws.

Not a Celtics fan, but they got further than most expected without irving.

Amazing seeing Lebron lead this ragtag group to the Finals without Love. 2nd best player I've ever seen play after Jordan.

Celtic guards shot 8-42. Basically gave the game away. Now we have to suffer another boring and predictable finals. I won’t even watch.

As if it wouldn't have been boring and predictable watching Houston or Golden State destroy a bunch of no-names on Boston? Cleveland will lose too but at least you're guaranteed Lebron's starpower.

It would at least have a small hint of being interesting if Boston could find their shot. But yes let’s see LBJ in the finals part 8.

So you don't like seeing greatness/history in the making?? I hope the rockets find a way to get to the finals and win, would love to see CP3 get the ring he deserves.

I won't pretend to know much about Tatum. You may very well be correct, but he sure was not soft on this dunk . . .

    One Comment - Wow!

This ending was about as unexpected as the one in Bogart's Treasure of the Sierra Madre.

I really can't recall a team with more injuries go this far in 30 years. They were missing their two most prolific scorers, a solid backup big man and a solid guard defender a last Smart. Sometimes injuries are a real big part of the game.

Even if they have just Kyrie, they probably win this series easily.

Wow! A “bunch of no-names on Boston”???
You sure you wanna let that quote stand?
