And that's a fair criticism. I disliked KD (fairly carelessly in my opinion) allowing his criticism to be made public in what was apparently an inadvertent manner. Ya' gotta watch your Twitter fingers! ;)
(PS: if you don't watch what you tweet, @ArtVandelay will be asking "Who is this Frank White that the Gators have hired as Head Coach???") :p:p:p

Billy's got a really tough job, trying to manage Westbrook. I'm a huge fan of Westbrook, but he's a ball hog who's at his best when he's a one-man wrecking crew trying to save a franchise (kinda like Iverson back in the day). That doesn't always work out so well for the coach trying to get that guy to be part of a team - just ask HOFer Larry Brown. (Obv. Westbrook is extremely different person than Iverson off the court, but hopefully you take my point.

My point is, I had no problem with KD's desire to go to GSW nor with his criticism of Billy. My problem was the way it went down and with how his criticism came out. It felt immature and almost passive-aggressive. As I said, I'm a big fan of his game and will definitely be cheering for GSW if the finals are a repeat matchup (again).

Meanwhile, our apologies for not having a separate Western Conference Finals Game Thread up last night (that's on me). Won't happen again.

We got an official Game #2 thread up and pinned for tonight's game, so we hope to see all of y'all and more over there for discussion re the Boston v. Cleveland matchup.

I concede that Al has had the better pro career, but we are talking all-time best Gator. In Walk's junior year he averaged 19.8 rebounds a game and 26.5 points per game. That is almost a double double-double.

This is kinda like the Bill Russell vs Wilt Chamberlain argument. The stats would suggest Walk is the best in a landslide. It’s probably neck and neck, I don’t want to flat out say Al was better because I can’t find any tape on Walk.

I’m going to predict that Cleveland wins tonight even though I don’t want it to happen. I think Cleveland will go big and try to outmuscle the quicker, younger Celtics. They tried going small ball with them last game and it obviously doesn’t work.

    Yeah just that “LITTLE” difference.

Don’t give me crap about Westbrook. They were one game away from the finals and actually played that record setting golden state team better than Cleveland did.

LeBron was actually the best player in the finals last year. If Durant actually gets called for his third foul when he smacked LeBron on the head with what should’ve been an and one, he doesn’t go off and that’s a whole different series.

Btw, ever wonder why Durant looks unstoppable with golden state? Because he has two all time shooters spreading the floor so he gets significantly better looks than he did in okc. I don’t even want to think about how scary LeBron would be with a Steph and Klay.

Truth is the warriors don’t have to earn anything as someone mentioned in this thread. It’s all but a guaranteed title each year. They only looked mortal in the regular season because they were disinterested (give me a break, Kerr gave up the clipboard and was letting players draw up plays) and had some injuries (the latter is the ONLY reason they might not win a title in any given season going forward). That’s why they gave up on the 1 seed they knew they didn’t need it and would just hit the switch for the postseason as they will every year from now until they start getting old. They have 4 hall of famers in their prime not to mention crazy depth.

Probably I've said this before - Jason Tatum is really good!

EDIT: Much as I love this kid, I've gotta do a better job of spelling his name correctly next season.
    It's JaYson (with a 'Y') Tatum. :)

End of first half. Lebron has taken 8 free throws, the Celtics 6. At least the NBA is consistent.

Your argument ends when you say Lebron was the best player in the finals last year. Durant was, and it was pretty obvious.

Man! I expected @cincinnatigator prediction on this one may be accurate, but it's still disappointing. :(

Jason Tatum is still really good, and Al is great all time time. Hoping they can reignite that defensive fire and start wearing down the Cavs with their youth (I hope. I hope).

That’s the first time I’ve seen a player and Lebron start at the same spot on the court without Lebron chasing it down.

Tristan Thompson yapping his mouth off to Morris was a big mistake. The one thing you never do is fire up a young team for free.

And seems like Lebron is about to check out mentally again.

I'm not sure anyone other than LBJ the Cavs is still playing at this point...definitely not defensively

Cleveland is outmuscling them for sure which is the only reason this is still a game. I think Boston will have a very tough time winning this series if they don’t take tonight.
