Former Republicans and Democrats form new third U.S. political party | Reuters

While I'm all in favor of additional options, as an independent, I just think all this will do is further dilute potential quality candidates. We have had third parties before, they make some noise and then nothing changes.

The real issue I think isn't so much the parties themselves, but the need for voter reform. Term limits, removal of special interest groups, gerrymandering and limiting "election season" would help more than having an additional party. Hell, I would even start with just limiting candidates pool of money to the Presidential Election Campaign Fund so every candidate is on equal footing and only ideas prevail.

The American system has long been in need of reform. McCain tried for years in vain. Just too many special interests. All you have to do is look at what has happened in Arlington, VA: a warren of buildings housing special interests at the government trough railing against socialism. Citizens United has ensured that corruption - and our system is corrupt by any definition - will continue for generations. So, while your ideas are spot on, there’s zero chance they will be realized.
Allow me to add that reform benefits both parties, assuming each wants fair elections.

Pay walled. All I saw was a picture of Andrew Yang, who I like.

This is awesome, and exactly what I have been saying we need... if it succeeds. And I love the name, "Forward." Not left, not right... but forward.

My hope is that they would not go for the presidency, at least not for awhile. But focus on getting a sizable chunk of house seats (10% or so) and a handful of Senate seats. If they can do that, they can control from the minority position by forcing both parties to work with them to get a majority.

I also like that they say they are going to go after elections at every level, and not just focus on the presidency. No way a third party wins that (at least not until they win over a massive amount of people).

I do fear that it will appeal more to Democrats than Republicans. The GQP seems to have a stranglehold on their constituents due to the constant brainwashing that their "media" feeds them.

This’ll go nowhere. Americans are addicted to wasting their votes

Sweet, America's version of the Lib Dems, just what we needed. Just like in the UK we can now choose between authoritarian conservative, conservative, or conservative lite parties.
