US judge asks Trump if he wants his federal election trial televised Of course, Trump wants the free air time and constant coverage. This is an example of when the media outsmarts themselves. I happen to agree with them the trial should be televised, but the government doesn’t want it and that’s going to be a narrative we hear about the whole trial. Say what you will about the press, but they don’t like being told no. It plays into Trump’s hands that the government is trying to stop the trial from being televised.
Ha, wha? “Media” exists to make money, full stop. If this ups the ad dollars, then that is what will happen. I myself might even figure out where the emotional manipulation channels are on Hulu Live just to watch this scumbag Mean Little Boy Face.
Trial should be televised, that’s the right result. But it’s not going to be like some reality show where he sits there all day mugging for the camera making his childish faces and waving his hands. The cameras will be on the witnesses, and I highly doubt he’s one of them.’
I guarantee you the cameras will pan to Trump very frequently, whether he’s testifying or not. After all, that’s what everybody is tuning in for. My guess is he will keep his mugshot demeanor throughout the ordeal.
I won’t spend 5 minutes watching it, you’re the one who started this thread. If the judge allows cameras (although I think federal law prohibits them) he isn’t going to let a defendant’s grandstanding from the bench dominate the tv coverage, any defendant, not just Trump. It will be largely about the witnesses, not the narcissist. Although watching him perjure himself if he takes the stand, or plead the 5th 500 times, would be the greatest campaign ad he could give the opposition party.
Like they did in 2020 although they were admittedly at least partially responsible for his election in 2016 thanks to the many hours of free air time they gave him during his first presidential campaign.
OP's spins are always funny to read. They are even funnier when the opposite of what they argue happens
the whole radical commie notion that there is "the media" is absurd. It's like the folks around here that think we have nationalized the oil industry.
Trump no doubt sees any televised trial of his like a TV episode of "Petty Mason" (that's how he spelled it in a recent Truth Social post), in that there will be plenty of camera shots of his reactions to witnesses' testimony. The sad part is not that that's not going to happen, but that he can't have a TV set at the defense table, or a big TV screen on the courtroom wall, so that he can watch himself mug for the camera. When he finds out during the trial that there are no such camera shots of him, he will no doubt whine and complain about it, citing it as more proof of being railroaded, during every break from the courtroom. As for the judge, he won't issue any gag orders, during breaks he'll just be in his chambers gagging.
