Factually way off. Mullen had six winning seasons at MSU, out of nine total. Dan Mullen Coaching Record | College Football at Sports-Reference.com

    It's a big deal... sure...

But rivalry games like FSU are important as well... Mullen's been much better than Mac in rivalry games, apart from Georgia...

The conference, particularly the SEC East was also much weaker from 2015-2017. If Mac were still here, he'd probably be getting outclassed by Georgia and LSU. Mullen has us a touchdown away against both... and these are playoff contenders... and he brought us offense...

Sorry, dude... but it's not even close... I like Mac, but he's nowhere close to the quality of coach as Mullen at this level...

Rivalry games mean nothing if he loses the next two years to Georgia and/or fails to make it to Atlanta. We probably will keep beating FSU. It matters for recruiting but less so with recruits following other SEC teams, the SEC network etc. I repeat rivalry game means nothing if we don’t make it to Atlanta.

His loyalty to Nuss and running Grier off I will never understand. But a net win for us.

Exactly Mullen had 6 of 9 seasons of .500+ win percentage. Their previous span of 6 seasons of .500+ was 6 in 15 seasons (1994-2008). So he took them from 6 in 15 (40%) to 6 in 9 (67%)--at Mississippi State.

I like Mullen as well. Forgetting about McElwain, my only fear is that Mullen has not recruited well and if you don’t recruit well you fail regardless how great a leader you are.

    Just disagree...

You think Mac makes it to Atlanta against this LSU team and this Georgia team?

Do you remember Mac's track record at Florida against quality opponents without a guy named Will Grier?

I think you have a short memory, here...

Mac didn't recruit well at all... He looked like he was going to have an excellent class in 2017... but based on the season we had, for all we knew that was a house of cards...

I realize that the results from Muschamp were worse, but I liked him a lot more than Mac.

From my observations, he showed no desire or dedication to be a Gator after he accepted a fat contract and the honeymoon stage was over, and that just rubbed me the wrong way.

Also lost to UT and could not beat FSU. I guess at least he beat UGA

I believe he is an excellent offensive coordinator and play caller. He can coach well as a head coach in divisions where the recruiting and player development demands and pressure to win are not so high as they are in the SEC. But he was not ready to be a head coach in the SEC when he was running our program. And it remains to be seen whether he has learned from his experience and now ready to do it at Missouri. I doubt it -- he didn't seem to adapt and understand our program had started moving backwards under his leadership.

I don’t know and probably not. I also agree that without great recruiting you will be sacked no matter what at Florida.

I didn’t think about that. I would like to see what he would do at Missouri.
