4 star WR & top target for the gators will announce his decision this coming Friday at noon. There is no reason to believe we land him, however this is just a thread made in case anything were to change this week with his recruitment. Heard it’s been Oklahoma now for a few months. He’s good friends with #1 Dual Threat QB & 5 star player Caleb Williams our of Washington. The two will pair to form a formidable offense at OU & they communicate daily (have been planning on playing together for some time now). Leary is announcing on the 6th and could wind up there as well..at least we have some time there to make up for any lost time. Book it- Williams to OU as of now

Yep it looks like OU is about to set up their surge in the week or so.

So did our big Junior Day have any effect at all? Seems like it just helped us finish 2nd and 3rd for a lot of prospects.

Goodie! Something more to complain and down the coaches about when we don't land a recruit we weren't supposed to land. (shaking head)

Congrats to Oklahoma on the pick up.

What recruits are we supposed to land? Apparently not the ones they have been recruiting in state for 3 years.

Great. This will give people something else to complain about when we "miss" on someone we were never supposed to get.

So our fans have resigned themselves to saying we aren’t supposed to get two of the top receivers in the country who we’ve recruited hard for a while, are from Central Florida, and would thrive in our offense?
I disagree. I expect us to keep them in state and not lose out to Oklahoma.

In the case of Williams, he was always planning on leaving the state. UF tried as they should have but this is not one you should bash the staff on. Bash on them not landing Brooks or Leary but they never had much of a chance with MW.

We can. I can just feel where this will go with the board. I'd love to be wrong.

WR kinda weird this cycle for us. I don't feel, and this is just an opinion, that they aren't swinging for the fences at the moment for WR since they seem confident on what we have returning (we're kinda young depth wise at WR)

I agree. We have good talent at the top with Copeland, Grimes, and Toney, and maybe Shorter. After that, the younger and less-experienced guys will need to step up, but, to be honest, isn't that always the case each year? Of course, more incoming promising new talent is always a good thing, too.
