Selfish selfish selfish. On 4th down and forever (at least 32 from what I can recall) goes for the huge play (being from south Florida trying to play hero ball) and blow it up instead of just knowing field position and letting him catch the ball and make a fundamental tackle.

Very disappointed he almost cost his team the game.

Lots of players tried to give it away. Luckily the DL did not quit.

It was a bad play. I'm not gonna attribute any motivation to it.

I don't think it was selfish. I don't even think he was going for a big play... it was a under throw and he got caught between the ball and the receiver.

Wow, people way overracting. There were mistakes all across the board. It's Marco's first game in well over a year after surgery. Everybody needs to quit finding people to blame, enjoy the Cane tears and just get better with a nice week off and a cream puff game.

Rust on the situational awareness processor. Luckily didn't have an L planted on him with that one.

Ugly win over a rival is still good.

If you don't hold players responsible for bone head decisions you will keep getting the same type of behavior. He knows better as a player and he did what he did anyway. He has to be held responsible, and I sure hope the coaches do hold him responsible. If he comes up and tackles the Miami receiver the game is over, but instead he mauls the receiver and gives Miami four more downs.

Nobody is suggesting he didn't make a mistake. They are saying that calling it "trying to play hero ball" instead of a mistake is probably moronic and suggesting one of the better corners in the country should be benched over a mistake is also probably moronic. He was trying not to give up a big play, the ball was underthrown, and contact ensued. That's as simple as it is, and the coaches will help him do better next time.

Lol. Not sure how you 'hold him responsible'.

Don't fret though, pretty small chance they'll just randomly skip that play in film review, so he'll probably be notified that he made an error.

Of course you hold him responsible. You do that by going over his mistakes in the film room and making them clear in practice. Then you compete on the field. If someone outplays him, they get the start.

But bench him because he is rusty with an open date? That is a frustrated fan, not a coach.

It wasn't selfish, it was being a goofball. Marco had a bad game.

Marco would be the first to punish himself. He knows he misplayed it. Can't change it just got to work to get better. I have no doubt that he will.

    Inside your head.
You can be sure that the play won't be ignored by Grantham and staff. But you don't bench a starter over one play in the heat of battle.

There's a post in this thread suggesting it. The world doesn't revolve around you, and perhaps you should brush up on your own reading skills.
