Did I hear correctly last night? The commentators said that Marco has had 14 passes thrown in his direction this year and has gotten a PI call on 8 of them? Did anyone else hear that or did I dream it? If true DBU needs some work.

The receiver, Wagner, they said his nickname is flagner because he gets pi on more passes than not, he has 8 pi on 14 passes

Yea it was in reference to Wagner. That being said , poor Marco had a rough night.

A couple of those PI calls were really
minimal contact that occurs on many downfield passes. The awful announcers were quick to uphold the zebra’s call - right or wrong. They were more annoying than the zebras and should have worn UK cheerleader outfits.

There is something to be said about a guy who seems to get PI on 60% of the balls thrown his way... Thats absurd even if it was Randy Moss playing at Marshall and last I checked this isnt basketball and the guy isnt Lebron for god sakes. Just because you fall down doesnt mean you get a flag.

I don’t think Marco is 100% from his injury. He appears to lack speed and no doubt lacks confidence. Hope that he continues to heal and play better, but he has demonstrated at times this year that he can be a liability.

Wagner had his hand on Marco's shoulder and Marco got the PI BS in my opinion

Marco needs to sit. Let Elam start.

Umm, Elam is starting. CJ was out with injury. Very inexperienced backups and CBs had to play majority of snaps. Giving up high rate of completions till the 4th quarter. Wonder if Dean should go back to cover corner role. Seems miscast for Chauncey replacement. Losing Huggins really hurt our D. No depth.

Let's go Elam and Trey on the outside. Marco is getting beat on. Has he made a play this year? They got him looking like CJ McWilliams.

Struggling to get back to form. Not the same player he was two years ago.

    It’ll take time.

He’s probably feeling pressure because he wants to go pro this year.

Trey Dean and Marco both cover well at corner, but, they both go to the intentional grabbing and resulting PI too often, as well. Just need a little more coaching on that topic. Can be coached.

He means this week when CJ comes back. Marco’s instincts aren’t right. Tons of talent but getting beat routinely and missing tackles.

Marco has all the tools to be a great corner. He may need more time to get back to form. He will be fine.

He needs reps to get back in the swing of things. Luckily we have a couple more warmup games upcoming so I would give him as many snaps as he can handle.

Marco is physically gifted. He is going through a mental slump. In coverage he is generally in great position but feels insecure on his ball skills so he grabs or holds at an excessively high rate. This is correctable and to me shows it is not a health issue.

The tackling problem is even more glaring. CGM went through the same issue early in his career. MW3 seems to shy away from impact. Gotta buckle up son, this ain't no 7v7.

I'm still wondering how the refs could hit us with holding as much as they did and allow UK to get away with it as much as they did.

I am honestly beginning to believe holding and PI flags are being used as equalizer calls in CFB now.

Each one is designed to either help or hurt an offense.

I don’t think Marco is playing as bad as people think. He got penalized plenty against Miami and UK, but he’s always on his guy and that Wr last night is a monster. If he was 10 yds behind the Wr and getting his doors blown off, id be more worried. Think he comes around.
