I vaguely remember reading a post that Malik hobbled off the field during game 2....then he barely played (if at all, there are conflicting game logs) game 3.

Do we know if he’s healthy?

I searched other threads but didn’t find this topic being discussed.

Any word on why he didn’t play vs KY?

I'm suspecting he's still earning his way out of the doghouse for those fumbles during the Miami game.

He scored a TD against Tenn. - Martin.

I actually forgot about that.... I do believe Pearce deserves to be perine's backup though..

I don't disagree per se but why? Pierce doesn't seem to get many yards. He's a rock of a RB but still he doesn't average out better than our other backs, does he? I remember we speculated last season is it that he was in late in the game with our second stringers.

When our team starts averaging 80 plays a game, we’ll see more of Davis.

I miss the rugby scrum days of last year when Perine would get an extra 5 yards when our offensive line pushed the pile forward.

Against Kentucky Perine averaged 1.8 yards per carry and Pierce averaged 4 yards per carry. He only had 2 carries though.

With this line no RB is getting any meaningful yards.

If you watch perine hit the line, he gets stopped... When Pearce hits the same line, he's pushing the pile... It's all about yards and softening the line up until our OL can actually get some push and opening up holes to run through. No disrespect to perine at all but Pearce is a harder downhill runner. Dude is a battering ram with speed.

I am a big Perine fan, but, I think Pierce might have been more effective against Kentucky because he is a little better at plowing through the line when no holes open up. Perine does add the pass out of the backfield option, though.

Can we get one post that spells both Perine and Pierce correctly? Oh wait, there it is.

Right, the rumor/word is that he tweaked something later that game, which might have explained his absence vs UK.

Glad he's ok, as discussed on this thread.

4 yards equals 8 yards when you have blocking.

I think Davis has not been keeping his nightly date with the jugs machine, so Mullen isn't as confident to use him, as Perine is more versatile and keeps defenses guessing.
