Commits to FSU.
I liked him. Great size, speed and athleticism. I'm not sure our coaches shared my enthusiasm. Our board is deep but so is the need losing five after this season. Hope we're after some speedier types.
Wideman is extremely talented. Watched him play basketball a bunch and he’s a d-1 basketball player as well.
Really huge pick up for FSU.
I saw his b-ball clips on HUDL. Only slightly less promising in basketball but entertaining to watch.
Seems as if our recruiting has hit an Iron Wall
He was projected to FSU for some time now but with WR being a deep class this year, along with the true freshmen that we have coming in this year, we will be ok
Big get for fsu. With Manual & Fraziars committed as tall 6’4” WR and many more options for us, wonder how far down the board he was. Going to be interesting to see how this WR class fills out.
On a side note, this is the third offensive skill player committed/signed to Willie in the 2019 & 2020 class (assuming no position changes). Former 2019 UF commit Maurice Goolsby (staff let go) and 2020 commits QB Jeff Sims & now Wideman. Compared to our 5 2019 commits (excluding Jalon Jones) & 5 2020 commits.
They are also in good shape to land Jaylan Knighton and Lawrence Toafili as well.
I really hope he plays basketball for them. I see choosing to be a dual sport athletes as detrimental to development in football (as if development is really happening there at this point).
Agree, think they will get one or both. Knighton pushing back his commitment date after seeming to be heading there was surprising, to me.
I like Toafili a lot. With Bowman to Clemson, I wonder if UF will give him much more interest?
Thought they (Clemson) were also in good shape to get Daniyel Ngata too.
They are taller and maybe more physical but not nearly as fast. Unless their published times are off, they are pretty slow. We need some speedy types to fill out the rest of the class. Not sure how he measures up skill wise but Wideman is one of the tallest fast guys/fastest tall guys in this class. 6'4" with deep speed is a precious commodity.
Taggert can recruit we all knew that, but the guy cant coach at a high level and will continue to fail miserably.
Ron Zook 2.0
That's an insult to Ron Zook 1.0.
Not sure we need to fret at all about the #32 WR in the country, #7 in the state. I like his size, speed and HUDL clips but our coaches and the recruiting experts don't share my enthusiasm. We will end up with five WRs in this class and I doubt Wideman was anywhere near the top five on our board.
I am fretting a bit about Henderson's little bro. Will not be happy if he ends up at Clemson.
It's only been 1 season at FSU, but so far Taggart is 2-3 games worse than RZ's worst team.
And Taggart was lucky, lucky, lucky not to lose to Louisville (one of the ACC's worst teams) and Samford- a 1AA team.
Zook had some brain locks, but in hindsight 2 losses to Eli Manning don't look so bad.
He also beat LSU and Saban the year they won the title.
Call me when Taggart beats Dabo or Saban- even on a good day.
