Barco might be pitching better than anyone right more over last 2-3 appearances.
Young reminded us why he will be first team all sec.

Calilao needs to stay in the lineup. We all like Thompson but KC is better defensively and I like his bat much more also.

I kinda like rotating Cali and Thompson. Keep em fighting for innings. Seems like several of the guys getting rotated in and out come in hot when they’ve been sitting a while. Acton, Carrion, Rivera, Armstrong, Thompson, Cali. Ride the hot bats. Probably hard to settle the defense, but it’s mostly been a mess anyway. Maybe they’ll play better d too. Who knows. Makes it a lil harder to pitch against us too when you never know who’s playin what.

We keep hearing Guscette is close. This Tuesday is our last mid week game in Deland and would be a perfect chance to get Guscette back in there if he is available. He might not be placed behind the plate but a spot duty as the DH seems reasonable. I'm sure they have already been testing the arm but game action is always different than batting practice or catching bullpen. Let's hope Sully gets him back in the lineup somehow against Stetson.

How hard is it to ask Sully in a post game interview?

In case you hadn’t noticed, UF is notoriously quiet about athlete’s injuries. He’ll be back when he’s back, and probably not before, is best info you’re really gonna get.

And as you well know @paidinfull, back healthy and “game speed ready” are two different animals.

Any NEW update? I would also add Halter to this list now. Anyone ask this simple question to Sully in post game?

I assume Halter has just lost his spot with the way Acton is playing.

How long has it been? Definitely seems like way too much time for a simple fracture in non-throwing arm...hope there aren't complications!

Agree but there is a big difference between “healed” and “game-speed ready” at least to me.

Halter has played very well and is hitting .301, but Sully remarked 10 days or so ago that he would be leaning more on his veterans down the stretch, meaning Acton and Calilao primarily. Sully said early in the season that Halter was one of the best defensive infielders he's ever coached, but he's tied with Rivera for the team lead in errors with 11. Plus Acton has really played well since being put back in the lineup, as has Calilao. Hard to keep Thompson's bat out, though, because he's a very good hitter as well.

With Hickey as the final out in B2, Mac came in to warm up Barco.
