That would be very helpful and ties to TG to attract to UF are ideal. Would give us some experienced DE, if Zuniga and Polite both depart early. Not sure how kids that have been waiting their turn feel, but we rotate in a lot of bodies and you have to earn your spot in that rotation. Nothing is given to you that is undeserved

Do we really? I think we are gonna be fine with numbers for another year, possibly 2. We just need guys in the system for 2-3 years down the road.

You always want to replace the players who are leaving. One DT won't replace the two who are graduating. DT should be the deepest position on the team.

Who at DT is leaving besides Clark? We have Shuler and Campbell back as starters and Slaton and Conliffe back as 2nd rotation. Dunlap is also back. I think DT position may actually be better next year with another year of Savage and an extra year of working with Sal. Campbell was injured and missed a lot of Spring/Summer development last year. Thought he ended year as our best DT

I believe that Shuler was a SR redshirt in 2018

I thought only clark was leaving? Shuler might also, but believe he is only a redshirt Jr in terms of years played.

I still dont know what type of defense Grantham really wants to run. Are guys like carter and langham gonna be DEs or DTs? Is zuniga what we want at SDE or was he just best available?

Good analysis with the depth we have. The problem is next year they will all be juniors and seniors. Since we missed last year and no one has been redshirted at this position in awhile we have to keep back filling at DT. Best case we add 2 every year but you and I know that doesn't happen. Ancrum is also a possibility but didn't fit well this past year. We still should add one more in February to help balance the future numbers.
FYI Shuler was a junior in 2018.

Nor replace the ones we didn't get last cycle. Don't know what to make of it. Remember back in the day when we couldn't get DTs to save us. This problem goes back to the Spurrier years. I realize we aren't done but me thinks we need two more, even three more DL to finish and I don't care what our depth looks like today or projects to be next season. I can't understand why we are in this hole. Two highly rated DTs from our state went to Va Tech this cycle. Really?

Malik Langham is 286 and will be a rFR in 2019, Zach Carter is 277 and will be a rSO next year. Both are bigger than Shuler, so kinda seems like we need ends moreso than interior guys?

It’s always the hardest to fill with 17-18 year olds. There are very few teams that are deep by the sheer impossibility of numbers. Usually a work in progress for the vast majority of teams. 330 in hs just doesn’t grow on trees. We could ask bama to loan is a few.

Norell Pollard and mario kendricks? I had to look them up. Our fans would be up in arms over their ratings. I think you might be a little loose with "highly" rated. They seem to simply be rated.

This is probably the guy you are thinking of, it was talked about but never happened .

Unless you are thinking of shuler from WVU who played a good deal this year.

Isn't Greenard coming here? If plans changed maybe it's b/c:

    A. Polite is staying

    B. We landed Summerall and/or more guys in Feb.

Greenard is an edge guy, as is Summerall. Why would Polite stay if he's projected to go in the first two rounds?

I don't believe Shuler has any eligibility left.
