I’d take him as a d coordinator and d recruiter, myself. We’d be better for it.
This is actually really great news.
according to 247 sports this was just a rumor and not confirmed.
I think he’s the most overrated defensive coach in college football.
I remember his first year at South Carolina when he brought in longtime SEC DC Ellis Johnson as an analyst. Now when Ellis was at South Carolina he had some great defenses. He knew what worked and what didn’t. Spurrier was credited for the success at South Carolina, but Coach Johnson is the one that should get just as much credit.
He told Will that he couldn’t have a good defense at SC if he ran a 3 man front. Told him that SC don’t have the talent like a Florida or Auburn. Yet, Will decided to ignore the advice.. His defenses sucked at South Carolina. Ellis left after that 1st year because he felt that Muschamp didn’t know what he was doing.
Will is a good recruiter. Hell he made Foley and Tanner look like morons because he duped them both. I’ll also add when it comes to evaluating talent, especially at the DB position Will is great.
But UF can do better then someone who has the same ego as Todd Grantham.
I don't want that man working at UF. Period.

Report: Former South Carolina coach Will Muschamp lands at Georgia
TBO, I would have taken him over 3rd and..... I believe he could've been our missing piece. He is a great recruiter, a defensive motivator. He tries to implement that in HC instead of toning it down and letting his staff do the job. I believe he hired coaches that would shy away a bit from him. Jmo
LOL. Well played indeed, sir.
During his last two years as defensive coordinator at Texas, his defenses stunk it up. In his year at Auburn, after we wisely ran him out of town, his defense stunk. During his second year at UF as head coach, his defense was outstanding--but with Urban's players. Otherwise, during his tenure at UF and USCe, his defenses were quite unremarkable. Remember that Georgia Southern beat us at home without completing a single pass. Georgia Southern. Beat UF at home without completing a single pass. Think about it. That's a defensive wizard?
I really don't get this bit about him being a defensive genius of some sort. It is all myth.
He may be a chump, but he's a rich chump. Fails everywhere he goes and still gets hired.
I just have to say how lazy one must be to disagree without explanation on a complex multi level posts. For god sake don’t be so lazy. Quote something and make your case. Maybe the dissenters aren’t so good readers that don’t read good.
I think Gray already got hired about a week ago.
The South Carolina boosters stepped up. I had respect for Muschamp until him and T Rob started encouraging some of our players to transfer.. He’s yet to make a statement after the firing, which shows how much character he has. The guy is a cancer.
I guess he was upset he wasn’t allowed to finish the season, but the bottomline is the boosters forced his firing.
An uga friend of mine calls him Comrade Muschamp. He thought that was very funny for a long time. Until Faton Bauta started his only game ever against UF. After which I began responding every time with something about Herr Schottenheimer.
