Gotta have em Die, simple as that, need to pull one out of the transfer portal too. I think it's clear this is the one glaring issue with the depth chart.
He would nearly be the headliner of that OU recruiting class. They aren't in on a lot of top guys to add either. If he is really sought after, it is kind of a peculiar destination just on football only. Maybe their new qb will turn around the perception of the program.
Its the kind of issue that can and will be heavily exploited if it exists. Portal looks to be in our future but getting a couple good hs kids better happen also. The best inside guys arent often in the portal.
Brutal, as they already have 3 DTs committed. Guess they want four. If it really is mostly about money, would be nice to know how much above our NIL they are being offered. Might have to flip a DT or two from fsu. Hope they have a terrible season regardless of our DT position.
Yeah, the DL recruiting is trending horrible right now. But the ONE good thing about the portal is you can fix a problem on the roster much quicker, now. The WR room last year, (Dike, Badger). The DL the year before that (Banks, Cam J). It’s not like it was 10 years ago where you had to stockpile bodies at a particular position group …AND then develop them for a year or 2, to correct a recruiting hole from 2 years prior. Also, this staff has proven that they keep grinding all the way to NSD(s). There have been some good last minute surprises.
I believe we will flip a few of these players because of Brendan Bett, Jamari Lyons and Michai Boireau. 1. Banks will get doubled a lot. 2. Gumbs, Sapp, McCray and James coming off of the edge will also warrant some help. 3. That means Bett, Lyons and Boireau need to take advantage of their 1v1 matchup. If they can put up some good numbers, the staff will have something to sell other than playing time. "We develop our players." Bonus -- Tarvorise Brown is able to contribute. We don't want these guys to be worn down by mid season. Regardless, I'm not too worried about it. Kids flip and the portal is always there.
