I have this feeling that he is going to break out this year. I have been watching his workout films and he sure looks the part. Now he has had a year to learn the playbook (including his first spring practice), he shouldn’t have anything holding him back. He seems like he could be a lethal combo of size and speed.

I hope you’re right. Cane fans didn’t seem too worried about losing him.

True but I think they may be right on Lingard. I don't see him having a major impact in SEC. He may score a few TD's though and pick up 3-400 yds in a season if things go well.

    I
think of Malibu’s Most Wanted when I think of the stereotypical cane fan.

How can you be built like he is, run a sub 4.5 40 and not do something at running back? If he flames out, I don’t think it will be because of physical ability. He was too good in high school.

Plenty of great backs in HS don't do much in college. We've had a few ourselves. Much different level of competition. Esp when you're talking about the SEC. I'll be surprised if Bowman becomes a star and is drafted. The guys that become stars and are drafted usually come out of HS at 210 lb or more with sub 4.5 speed. We haven't signed anyone like that since I think Fred Taylor. Corndogs and mutts seem to sign one of those guys every year for some reason.

Hope the OP is right. We wanted Lingard coming out of HS and he looks the part of a solid back. Hope he can stay healthy and tear it up.

Does he have vision? Wiggle? Can he make people miss? We know if he's got a big hole he can take off.

I saw him play against Deland High maybe 6 or 7 years ago. I think he played for a new school(maybe University)and he as a freshman single handedly beat Deland High. It was like a man against children. He had like 250 yards and ten touches of the football. It was amazing.

Like most college running backs, Lingard needs a good offensive line and a QB who is a threat in the passing game in order to be most successful, so opposing defenses can’t load the box. We shall see if he gets those things at Florida.

Kid has talent. Just needs to showcase it. hopefully the OL is improved and helps the RBs out this year. The QB style can't save a bad OL

That’s why I love Tank Bigsby from Auburn, he is one of the most impressive RBs from that recruiting year.

Most backs coming out of high school don’t have legit 4.4 speed at his size. That speed was officially timed by laser not his high school coach holding a whistle.

Hoping he breaks out but wouldn't be surprised if he's just another guy at RB.
