Makes sense. No way he'd be a top coach in the SEC. His lack of defense and lackluster recruiting (his class ranking has fallen every year) just wouldn't work. He's 1-3 vs the SEC with the only won coming against UF last year, and as we all know that was without our offense and the worst defense in history.

I don't understand why people overlook this.

Riely opts for the $ instead of competing for a NC, lol.

Coaches get to just get up and leave their current school whenever they want to for better opportunities elsewhere, and don't get called quitters etc. Stuff like this is precisely why I will never get upset at players who decide to transfer.

Oklahoma is coming to the SEC . . . USC plays in the Pac-12. Like Coach Spurrier said, "It's easier to win a national championship than an SEC Championship," (or words to that effect).

Hes got an easier path at USC. Oregon is the only team that can recruit at the level of USC in that conference. If he does what he just did at OU the last 5 years, USC will double his pay.

He's not getting a tier 1 gig. He's more of a KSt, Iowa St. level at this point.

Worst case, heupel to OU and Mullen to Tennessee. He would be on a mission to show UF up.

Can’t imagine Kiffin not snagging either the Oklahoma or LSU job. 10-2 and a NY6 bowl is about the peak for Ole Piss.

All he said at the presser was "No, I will not be the next coach at LSU". He didn't talk to the players about anything other than moving on to USC from everything I've read.

A good coach can quickly drop to 5-8 in the sec esp after Texas and Oklahoma get here. It’s not for the feint heart and I really dig it that Napier wants it here and not is one of the weaker/easier conferences. I think it says a lot about a guy. Maybe he won’t run at the first sign of adversity.

In its totality, USC is a much better job with a much easier road to the playoffs.

Lincoln Riley wanted nothing and I mean absolutely nothing to do with the SEC West. He can take his chicken self out to California and never be heard from again until he's fired.

He could get that paycheck in any conference and a good school. He chose usc, you’d have to ask him but I doubt he’d say because it’s easier and he has a better chance of success.

He announced to the media. Not going to LSU. A true statement.

    No mention of USC.
