    Yes, there was reason to bring it up during the campaign, given what Kelly and others were quoted as saying. Unfortunately, and predictably, that seeps over into calling each other Nazis.
    I think maybe we used to have a rule against it, but it kinda faded away. I'm not sure. But let's stop that, OK?
    If something new comes up that warrants new discussion, then we can go with that. But pull the plug on "he's a Nazi, you're a Nazi, they're all Nazis ..."
    thanks

    While we are at it, how about we dump the false dichotomy bullshit that you are either a Trump supporter or a radical commie who hates America. That is every bit as disgusting.

    Hitler too. These deplorable phrases should have never been part of political discourse.

    Okay as long as anyone who voted against Harris and for a major party candidate ….. can still call themselves “deplorable garbage”? We’ll drop the “nazi-like” but can we still call ourselves “fascist” ….. or is that reserved for the mega-MAGA trumpaloons?

    Thanks.

    You guys should listen to river.

    This election showed just how ineffective the attempt to brand Trump (or his supporters) as Nazis has become.

    Moscow once told American communists, "If someone disagrees with you call them a "fascist."

    So that's what the left wingers do.

    If they’re a true socialist, calling them a socialist or even a Marxist will be worn as a badge of honor.

    How about comparing the rhetoric of two people? Because that's all I've ever seen on this board regarding any comparisons between Trump and Hitler.

    Certainly it's not wrong to say that someone's rhetoric is similar, or mirrors, that of someone else, correct?

    Such as that Trump's rhetoric mirrors that of Stalin;

    Stalin used the same kind of language at about the same time. He called his opponents the “enemies of the people,” implying that they were not citizens and that they enjoyed no rights.

    Trump Is Speaking Like Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini

    President Trump said Friday that the press is “truly the enemy of the people,” ratcheting up his use of the derisive label to attack the news media.

    “The press is doing everything within their power to fight the magnificence of the phrase, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump tweeted.

    “They can’t stand the fact that this Administration has done more than virtually any other Administration in its first 2yrs,” he continued. “They are truly the ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!”

    Trump ramps up rhetoric on media, calls press ‘the enemy of the people’

    Or citing someone's rhetoric in an article which compares that rhetoric to the rhetoric of Hitler? Certainly that's OK, right..... to compare people's rhetoric?

    At a recent rally, former President Donald Trump used language in a speech that echoed Adolf Hitler, comparing his political opponents to "vermin."

    "We pledge to you that we will root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country," he told a New Hampshire crowd.

    Later on, Trump referred to himself as "a very proud election denier."

    Can we link to or paste from legitimate news sources that cite these comparisons of rhetoric?

    For example, ABC News is considered a very legitimate news source;

    Former President Donald Trump vowed this weekend to "root out" his political opponents, who he said "live like vermin" as he warned supporters that America's greatest threats come "from within" -- extreme rhetoric that echoes the words of fascist dictators like Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini, experts and Trump's critics said.

    Trump compares political opponents to 'vermin' who he will 'root out,' alarming historians

    ^ I'll follow the rules, but I'm just asking for clarity, in order to do so, please.

    Are we required to sane-wash Trump's rhetoric? To pretend that these similarities in the actual words spoken don't exist?

    Again, I'll follow the rules, but this would feel like simply winning an election allows the winner to dictate what is reported, to re-write history. Almost to even alter the reality that we all witnessed with our own eyes.
