Was he not forced? If so, hes not capable of making the correct decisions on his own. Thats not someone who should be in charge, that's someone who needs to be under someone else to be productive . Hes an oc masquerading as a hc.
Yes, but we had 418 yards rushing in a blowout win and throwing the ball at all would be silly. The Mornhinweg and Lagway performances where dismal offensive performances in bad losses.
True, and throwing the ball was also silly because Treon was being tossed into the fire and he wasn't a good passer anyway. Not comparing the two situations, just adding to your list of low passing yardage days.
His record at MSU and UF show he is an above average HC. If he had stumbled onto the right DC...even if forced...we may be singing his praises these days. The NFL has had a number of QB's who played for him at some point. He turned Dak (a 3 star kid) into an all timer as a college QB and a really good NFL QB. I think he has 76 drafted players attributed to his direct tutelage.
Gotcha...and I honestly forgot about that because we just crushed their souls on the ground that day.
I understand...but it is soooooo far from where we are now and would likely catch lightning a bottle from time to time. I mean, 3 playoff teams in 4 years would be the stuff of legends right now
Did he? I recall the story at the time was SS forced them out after mighty Samford went up and down the field on us.
It was after the South Carolina loss. And it was Mullen. Gators fire DC Grantham, OL coach amid slump Remember there was some cracking in the relationship. We had that video of Dan ripping TG a new one during the 2020 UK game.
I hear ya, but that was throwing deck chairs off the Titanic. Came way too late to save him. He would have been in a tough spot b/c quality guys aren’t looking to sail on a sinking ship….same spot Napier will be in if he plays the “I’ll hire an OC” card. I still question his QB development skills. On one hand, Alex Smith, Tebow, Dak…on the other, Franks and Jones. I wish it would have worked out with him
