Sources: Clippers to land Leonard, George
Billy Donovan after getting wind of this....
Westbrook drives another one off.
Get out now Billy, he's going to get you fired eventually.
Gilgeous-Alexander and Danilo Gallinari and 5 first round draft picks, 4 of them unprotected, to OKC.
WOW. ugh. Double ugh.
Two pretty good defenders teaming up. Should be interesting.
Too bad KL didn’t join forces with LeBron and AD. They really would have won not one not two..
Would have been a big middle finger at KD for pulling the chump move he did to steal 2 rings.
But signing Danny Green is a very underrated move for the Lakers. LeBron needs shooters and they don’t come much better than Green. With LeBron and AD, Green is going to get all kinds of open looks.
Great defenders plus Patrick Beverly. Their defense will be out of this world.
...and once again Doc Rivers will get too much credit.
All those picks are great...but only the one from Miami stands to be a lottery pick unless the Clips fall apart in a few years.(And Miami is likely a playoff team now with Butler)
I'm just excited that Leonard didn't go to the Lakers!
I’ve been wondering if they had any picks from someone else.
Two from Miami were included from deals the Clips made previously (I believe).
Can't see Billy being long for OKC. The fans hate him and I don't think he signed up for a total rebuild when he decided to make the move to the NBA. I suspect if any top college jobs open next Spring, someone is going to splash the cash for BD.
I get the culture change in the NBA but I can't see what is entertaining about stacking a team like that. To each their own. I used to stack teams when I played video games as a kid because it was absurd to think it would ever really happen. The end result of this move is you now have a few teams that look like they can win it. Better for the game in my opinion.
Free bad for Billy. He deserves a better fate
I like the shift in power, it’s healthy for the game. That Clippers-Lakers rivalry took a big step forward. Had Kawhi gone to the Lakers it would’ve sucked the fun and ratings out of the league. Fans want diversity.
This needed to happen. Kawhi going to Lakers would have been a farce. The Lakers are run by complete idiots who've spent the past 6 years (at least) drafting poorly and making bad trades and FA signings. Lebron and AD forced their way there despite that mismanagement. I'm glad that Kawhi recognized this and chose the (ironically) better-run organization. There will be no load-maintenance for Lebron now. He'll be playing 38 min a night at PG. Should be interesting.
Sucks for Donovan. OKC may have a chance to trade up and build a team with those picks but he probably won't be around long enough to see it.
