The one we got a FG:

    Rush to 11 from 19
    Incomplete
    Rush no gain
    False start
    FG

    End of game:
    Rush to 9 from 19
    Complete loss of 1
    Run for 5 to 5
    FS to 10
    Facemask to 5
    Complete loss of 4
    FS to 14
    Run for 3 to 11
    Complete for 3 to 8
    Incomplete downs

    Final:

5 rush for 26, but 18 came from 2 runs starting on the 19. Not great but acceptable

Passing was 3 for 5 for a total of minus 2 yards. No passing game, all horizontal

3 false starts but 1 face mask. Minus 10 yards.

We’ve seen major red zone troubles from this set of players in previous games. It appears we are unable to throw the ball into the end zone and run space collapses. So our plan is to go horizontal and hope someone can sneak in with some space.

We don't have a Pitts type of receiver who can make contested catches in the end zone, or even a Toney type who's slippery enough to find space where none exist, and we're clearly terrified (and not for no reason) of having Jones actually throw the ball into the end zone. We're fine once we actually get nearer the goal line and our running game comes into play, but yeah, right now we seem pretty helpless when we're about 10 yards out or so and space constricts.

I really don't think the issue is on the receiver side. Obviously Pitts was a beast but a guy like Trask could get the ball in the end zone to Gamble/Zip/Shorter/Cope/Whittemore/etc

Gators need to address their strengths in the red zone and practice an entire day

Did Mullen hire Willie Taggart to call plays in this game? Sure looked like it.

It doesn't matter. EJ is limited, everyone knows it, D is scheming for it.

Exactly. There’s no excuse to be totally inept. We seem to not have “stretch the field” capability or a game breaker like Toney. But we have a couple big WR and TE you should be able to take end zone shots with.... if you aren’t afraid.

I think all the INT EJ has thrown has spooked Mullen. Guys trying a QB sneak from 14 yards out and wasting another down on a pass to the flat for 0 yards. That says it all.

In short yardage situations watching Bama and Georgia go to a sixth offensive lineman as either a super sized blocking tight end or fullback makes me wonder why we haven't gone to this. Meyer used six linemen plenty of times when he was here and I have seen Zipperer line up at fullback a few times this year, but not yesterday.

Knox is such a terrible coach. He's responsible for RB rotation. Clearly DP is our best RB all night, he kept rotating. When the game is on the line, he puts Malik in? Now Malik has been involved with 3 game-end drives that we lost. It's mind-boggling, but Know is his pal. Hev? The recruting will catch up to you, now matter how good you can coach. RG and possibly EW will be gone next year, we don't have OTs to field to capable OL. Portal is the only plce to go

I was under the impression that Mullen would play the "hot hand" at running back in the 4th quarter. Yesterday, it was clearly Pierce.

Still gotta throw it in the end zone.

Yep, we have plenty of receivers. Have to take shots into the end zone and learn to stretch the field when driving

I don't want to see Malik ever in the 4thQ in a close game. Fire Knox, never should have brought him. His ST is so average as well

Why not bring AR in for goal line situations....he is bigger and a faster runner and the defense will have to play him for the run and give him 5 different pass options he can practice to get proficient running and I think that would get it done

Pierce should be the starting back with Wright as a RB/WR hybrid. These are just other things that annoy me about Mullen.

Malik is fine. Knox can go just based on ST sucking.

This. No reason for him to have 2 coaching titles. Special Teams have been meh under his watch. I'd be happy with just having an Ace recruiter at that position

Knox isn’t going anywhere. He’s been with Mullen since 2009.
