I better start by being the 2nd base coach so the boys will see me waving them to 3rd ! Guaranteed more triples

Georgia State is building a decent program. They are snagging some pretty good players on the travel ball scene up here in ATL.

As far as volunteer coaches, I was talking to the TCU coach at the 17U WWBA a few weeks ago. He said they make money off camps and renting their fields out for travel ball tournaments in the area. He said it could be up to 800 per game!

I didn't know there was a 2nd base coach. I always thought that was some dumb umpire back there.

Does this go with your idea of a beer stand box out behind second somewhere?

First time I saw that done was at a Pizza Hut in Romeoville, Illinois. I was waiting for some high school friends to show up (I was 17 years old and in my first semester of college) and there was a table of rowdy bikers. They had already been drinking for a long time.

The guy got it down and then blew chunks.

It took all my will power not to laugh out loud and then get the chit beat out of me.

My wife took Golf as a graduate student in Civil Engineering and a TA so her courses were paid for,. She argued that learning golf was part of becoming a consulting engineer.

    Makes sense to me.
Wish somebody would have paid for my golf lessons as a youngster. Might be more than a hacker.:emoji_golfer::emoji_golf:

I didn’t have to pay for it either! Free club rental even!

And as a former consultant engineer, I can appreciate that. Lots of social/business outings on a golf course.

    Did you play at Bushwood?

Assuming you are referring to Caddyshack and not some other random course that must surely exist named Bushwood, no I didn’t but Bill Murray and I would have made a great pair out there. I could have been the Dali Lama. Big hitter the Lama.

Didn’t go to UF, but freshman PE was called Group Games—if I remember it was golf, archery, tennis, and handball. I was on my HS tennis team, so that was easy, and I picked up handball pretty well. I couldn’t get the hang of archery, and to me golf is beyond boring.
