WWE legend King Kong Bundy dies at 61
another wrestler from my era gone
In the spring of 2001 I was selling Frozen Cocktail Mix and Disney was one of my accounts. I had an appointment with the F&B Manager at the Polynesian Hotel. Now while not quite as big as KKB, I am 6'4" 300lbs and totally bald. I was walking in the front door of the hotel when a woman shouted out to mem "hey". I turned to see who was calling me and this late 40's woman with a New Yawk accent came running over and said, "I know who you are". I smiled(I had on a white dress shirt that said Island Oasis Frozen Cocktail Company and was carrying my sample bag) and asked her how she knew me. she said she had seen me at MSG not too long ago in a match. She said she would not blow my cover , but that she would know KKB anywhere. She then pulled an autograph book out of her large purse and asked me to sign it- which I did. My Dear Sally, it was great to see you today and thanks for keeping my cover, KKB. I still laugh about that one.
I don’t know who’s got it worse, wrestlers or comedians.
The guys from "The Golden Age of Wrestling" are sadly gone, or so many of them..
I remember watching wrestling on Saturdays.... Brunoo Sammartino, KKB, then onto Jimmy "Superfly" Snookah, the Iron Sheik, etc...
Ahh, the good old days... not to mention Roller Derby!
The Crusher, Vern Gagne and Jesse Ventura were pretty good too.
If you look like KKB you might want to try the low carb diet. Worked for my next door neighbor who was 6’5’ and 310 pounds. He dropped over 60 pounds in 4 months.
did the low carb Advocare Diet and lost an incredible amount of weight- then my oldest daughter passed away and I struggled- I am a stress eater and so I put back on the 90lbs I lost- at some point I will go back to my Advocare diet
wonder how al and peg took the news?
Eddy Graham was king around here
Led Zeppelin played at the Eddie Graham Sports Stadium or at least tried to
Saw Eddy and one of the Briscos against the Great Malenko and Hiro Matsudo in as us vs them match
Dad loved wrestling so I got to go quiet often
Saw Jay and the Americans perform before a match at the now gone Orlando American Legion
Didn't see many wrestling matches live. Eddie Graham was one of the wrestlers in the last one I saw live back in the '60s. I did watch many of the those wrestlers, including others like Haystack Calhoun and Dusty Rhodes on Saturday afternoon Championship Wresting from Florida narrated by Gordon Solie. Sadly, Eddie passed away as the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in 1985. Knowing what we do today I have think CTE may have been factor.

I'm sure your daughter would want you to be healthy.
