Zook is Avail. Do we need a Special Teams Analyst?

    Maryland:
Senior analyst Ron Zook is no longer a part of the Terps staff. Zook previously served as the head coach at Florida (2002-04) and Illinois (2005-11) before becoming a special teams coordinator for the Packers and then the Salt Lake Stallions of the AAF.

USF should've promoted Kerwin to HC. He didn't have anything to work with and needed a couple of recruiting cycles to add players. He started programs and won. He went to Valdosta and won a National Championship within 2 years scoring 52 ppg. Kerwin is a leader and should be a HC somewhere. At least an OC. Heard today that Clemson is paying there OC 5 mil.

I'm not so sure about that. His offense was ranked close to dead last in every category this year. He needs a lot more seasoning. He's coming here to get it.

Kerwin didn’t recruit a single offensive player at USF. He’s proven to be a consistent winner at every stop in his coaching journey, USF aside. The Bulls could do much, much worse than Kerwin Bell as head coach. Just my opinion.

He still had more talent than 80% of the teams he went up against. There's no excuse for being that bad.

As I posted earlier in the thread, being an analyst isn't so much about being the _____ -in-waiting at the school as it is as a wayside to help and wait for a better gig elsewhere. If there is anyone who needs a "reset" it has to be Kerwin. He may not think he does (see little willie's silliness) but overall his ability to be taken seriously in major college has taken a BIG hit. This would help him - and us - immensely.

I agree with you 100%. I was just disagreeing with the notiion that he should have been given the USF head coaching job. No way.

LOL hopefully you did not think that was yearly. I'm thinking that was a three year deal which is still pretty crazy when you think about it.

As mentioned, Kerwin Bell didn't recruit or sign any of the players at USF. Charlie couldn't recruit and it showed. Kerwin could turn that program around, it looks like new USF coach Scott hired Kiffins staff from FAU. IMHO, USF is out of touch. They'll be at the bottom of that GREAT AAC.

And has visited Saban in Tuscaloosa. Beware, Charlie, take a look at Butch Jones. He is still polishing Saban's car in Tuscaloosa after 2.5 years.
