Kelvin and UF have been in contact and Joseph will in fact be taking a visit to UF. KJ was a 4* CB in the 2019 class and ranked in the top 50. He signed at LSU and played in 11 games as a freshman. I'm told it is a good possibility he will transfer to UF and will sit a year unless he can get a waiver.

He's all Gator imo and it will offset the loss(es) of Hendo and Marco when they bolt after the upcoming season.

This would be a nice break for us after the Steele situation. Hopefully whatever the issue was at LSU is behind him and he can contribute in a big way whether it's this year or next. Definitely hope this gets done!

I would love to add Robinson to that list.

I don't like all the movement of players (unless of course it goes our way), but it really is going to create a lot more parity around the country. I thought that recruiting rankings and depth charts on the internet, social media, and text messaging, really revolutionized how recruits could assess their situations with potential schools. Now that the old two year rule to sit out in transfers from one SEC school to another is gone, there is lenience by the NCAA in waiving the rule to sit out one year in a transfer, and there is a transfer portal to allow players to move anywhere they want without their old school's permission, it is like all players have free agency.

Players will find better situations for playing time, and coaches will have limited ability to freeze out a player for discipline or favoritism (the 5 star has to play first even if he isn't the best). The beneficiaries will be coaching staffs who are not as good recruiters. Hopefully this will affect Georgia and Alabama players as well or at least make them pay more to keep current players than shifting that money to recruits.

Building a reputation for being upfront with players, recruits, and their families will be an asset in this new model.

The persona he projects on twitter is a very loud-cocky character. Reminds me a bit of a young Teez. Could grow into a great leader or a great distraction, but he definitely won't be the quiet-humble type.

Team numbers and quality back ups at every position are needed!
I just truly believe we have a brand name in DBU, gotta take a shot and bring the young man in and hope for growth on and off the field!

This is pretty much exactly what we need after losing Steele and facing the seeming inevitability of losing Henderson and Wilson after the season. It would be great if he could get eligible for 2019, but unless there was something going on behind the scenes I don't see the grounds for that.

I still get the feeling it was the pressure from home to commit to LSU. He really liked his Florida visit enough to decommit the following day. Having seen Dan come on board and turn Florida around has to have him wishing he would have picked the good guys. At least that is what I am hoping is his reason for the portal. ;)

Rumor is Derek Stingley was promised a starting position as a condition of his commitment. If true he would have no choice, but to transfer.

It may be better for LSU in the long run in this case because of how developed Stingley is as a true freshman, but Ogre is going to find that the recruiting tactics he used pre-portal aren't going to work post-portal.

Only a few players that talk a lot can pull it off. Most just come off as bigmouths. Everyone isn’t Ali, most are McGregors.

Stingley would start as a true freshman at 90% of the schools in the country (not UF tho). The kid can play.

Would be a nice get. Agree with posters regarding need for next year to add some additional experience to DB ranks

So he could redshirt next year and then play as a RS Sophomore right?
